Genesis 1:2 :

The 1st day had no heaven and no earth. The 2nd day there was no earth, but the light was created. Then, on the 3rd day, there was the light, the heaven, and the earth was brought forth.

יום רביעי : 

יום רביעי Now in the fourth day, we find that Yahwah had made two great lights. The greater light was to rule the day, and the lesser light was to rule the night. He made the stars also.

Genesis 1:16 : 

Genesis 1:16 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. Genesis 1:17 : 

Genesis 1:17 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, set and 17 ויתן אתם אלהים ברקיע השׁמים להאיר על־הארץ׃ H5414 נתן nâthan naw-than' A primitive root; to give, (put, set): - appoint, assign (Done on the 4th day)

Genesis 1:24-31 : 

Genesis 1:24-31 24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 24 ויאמר אלהים תוצא הארץ נפשׁ חיה למינה בהמה ורמשׂ וחיתו־ארץ למינה ויהי־כן׃ 25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 25 ויעשׂ אלהים את־חית הארץ למינה ואת־הבהמה למינה ואת כל־רמשׂ האדמה למינהו וירא אלהים כי־טוב׃ 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 26 ויאמר אלהים נעשׂה אדם בצלמנו כדמותנו וירדו בדגת הים ובעוף השׁמים ובבהמה ובכל־הארץ ובכל־הרמשׂ הרמשׂ על־הארץ׃

Genesis 1:24-31 : 

Genesis 1:24-31 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 27 ויברא אלהים את־האדם בצלמו בצלם אלהים ברא אתו זכר ונקבה ברא אתם׃ 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 28 ויברך אתם אלהים ויאמר להם אלהים פרו ורבו ומלאו את־הארץ וכבשׁה ורדו בדגת הים ובעוף השׁמים ובכל־חיה הרמשׂת על־הארץ׃ 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 29 ויאמר אלהים הנה נתתי לכם את־כל־עשׂב זרע זרע אשׁר על־פני כל־הארץ ואת־כל־העץ אשׁר־בו פרי־עץ זרע זרע לכם יהיה לאכלה׃

Genesis 1:30-31 יום השׁשׁי : 

Genesis 1:30-31 יום השׁשׁי 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 30 ולכל־חית הארץ ולכל־עוף השׁמים ולכל רומשׂ על־הארץ אשׁר־בו נפשׁ חיה את־כל־ירק עשׂב לאכלה ויהי־כן׃ 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. 31 וירא אלהים את־כל־אשׁר עשׂה והנה־טוב מאד ויהי־ערב ויהי־בקר יום השׁשׁי׃

We know that a day is made up of 24 hours. And, according the Genesis account, it took 6- 24 hours periods to create everything tangible.

Ex.31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. Lev.23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. Ezk.46:1 Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.

Genesis 2:1-3The Completion of The Week : 

Genesis 2:1-3The Completion of The Week 1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 1 ויכלו השׁמים והארץ וכל־צבאם׃ 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 2 ויכל אלהים ביום השׁביעי מלאכתו אשׁר עשׂה וישׁבת ביום השׁביעי מכל־מלאכתו אשׁר עשׂה׃ 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. 3 ויברך אלהים את־יום השׁביעי ויקדשׁ אתו כי בו שׁבת מכל־מלאכתו אשׁר־ברא אלהים לעשׂות׃ This is the completeness of his week.

Week = שׁבע Weeks = שׁבעת Seven =שׁבע Seven(שׁבע ) is where the word week(שׁבע)comes from. A week has 7 days

Genesis 2:1-3The Completion of The Week 1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 1 ויכלו השׁמים והארץ וכל־צבאם׃ 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 2 ויכל אלהים ביום השׁביעי מלאכתו אשׁר עשׂה וישׁבת ביום השׁביעי מכל־מלאכתו אשׁר עשׂה׃ 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. 3 ויברך אלהים את־יום השׁביעי ויקדשׁ אתו כי בו שׁבת מכל־מלאכתו אשׁר־ברא אלהים לעשׂות׃

The Ten Words : 

The Ten Words Ex 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: Ex.20:9 שׁשׁת ימים תעבד ועשׂית כל־מלאכתך׃ Ex.20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: Ex 20:10 ויום השׁביעי שׁבת ליהוה אלהיך לא־תעשׂה כל־מלאכה אתה ובנך־ובתך עבדך ואמתך ובהמתך וגרך אשׁר בשׁעריך׃ Ex 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
