Fire in London has people fleeing… Just when the citizens of Europe thought that all of the disasters have ended here came the second hit of the black death. The first time the plague hit it killed 25 million people. as our correspondents walk around the streets they see red crosses but what do they mean? One of our reporters went up to a guard and asked why are there crosses on the doors he said it’s because the houses with red crosses have been contaminated with plague. Louis XIV invents gambling... King Louis of France invents a revolutionary new type of entertainment. It is called gambling. Here is how it works all of his nobles place bets on where the wheel is going to land. Then they give how much money they want to bet. If the wheel lands on the space they selected they earn twice as much money as they betted if the don’t guess the right place then they lose all of the money that they betted. Here, the entire French nobility was expected to take residence and to participate in elaborate ceremonies, festivals and dinners. entertainment We bring thee all of the news - Since 1609 Louis' motivation was not based solely on his desire to have a good time but was a means of simultaneously controlling the nobility, reducing their power and watching for any potential rivals. Prior to the construction of Versailles, Louis kept an eye on the aristocracy by requiring that they accompany him wherever he may go. When the king traveled, he did so at the head of a great lumbering retinue of hundreds of lesser nobility - all of whom had to be fed and entertained at each stop.
