Who is Amelia Earhart? Amelia Earhart was born in Atchison, Kansas on July 24, 1897.

As a kid, she would climb trees, collect bugs, and hunt down rats with a rifle. :

Why is Amelia Earhart famous? She was the first female pilot to fly at 14,000 feet. In 1928, she became the first women passenger to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. In 1932, she became the first women pilot to fly across the Atlantic Ocean.

What was her biggest Flight? Amelia Earhart’s biggest flight was on June 2, 1937 when she flew around the whole world along the equator.

Theories One theory is the she may have ran out of fuel, drowned, and died. Another theory was that Amelia landed on a island; the Japanese were guarding the island and captured her because they thought that she was a spy.
