producing a better skilled workforce; and giving Britain a competitive edge.’ Alan Johnson Secretary of State for Education and Skills 27 September 2006 The new entitlements at KS4 : 10/10/2008 The new entitlements at KS4 National Curriculum core subjects (English, maths and science) National Curriculum foundation subjects (ICT, PE & Citizenship) Work-related learning and enterprise Religious education Sex, drug, alcohol and tobacco education and careers education The choice available to young people must include: All 14 Diploma lines and At least one course in each of the following areas: the arts, design and technology, humanities, modern foreign languages;
