What Data is GDS referring to? : 

What Data is GDS referring to? Master Data is a data set describing the specifications and structures of each Item and Party involved in Supply Chain Processes. Master Data can be divided into neutral and relationship dependent data. Master Data is the foundation of business information systems. Neutral Master Data is data which is generally shared between multiple parties and which is relationship independent. Relationship Dependent Master Data is Master Data, which concerns all terms bilaterally agreed and communicated between trading partners such as marketing conditions, prices and discounts, logistics agreements, etc.

Global Registry : 

Global Registry UCCnet Basic Item Data GLN + GTIN + Target Market (registry keys) Global Product Classification Description, Brand, Private Indicator Dates Location of item data in the supply chain (IP address) Performs basic validation of registry attributes Distributes subscriptions and validation rules Validates the incoming data Change Request pending re: data ownership

Recipient Data Pool :

GDS Subscription* Process : 

GDS Subscription* Process Information Recipient creates subscription at Recipient Data Pool Recipient Data Pool sends subscription to Global Registry Global Registry forwards subscription to appropriate Source Data Pool(s) * With the setup of a subscription, a Data Recipient sets a profile to receive ongoing updates of the matching data.

GDS Process for Items : 

GDS Process for Items DataPool Registry DataPool Retailer 4. A retailer will subscribe at their recipient data pool. The recipient data pool will forward the subscription to the Registry. The Registry will forward the subscription to the Source Data Pool.

GDS Publication Process : 

GDS Publication Process Each Source Data Pool matches subscription to publication criteria All data complying with subscription is sent to the Information Recipient’s data pool Recipient Data Pool sends data to the Information Recipient Recipient Data Pool sends acceptance or rejection notifications to the Information Provider’s source data pool The Source Data Pool forwards the notification messages to the Information Provider
