Queers With Careers - an event bringing together students and professionals who are LGBTQ identified to discuss their career experiences and work place considerations. Our panelists share their stories about coming out in the workplace, what they have learned to advance their careers The office of LGBTQ Resources & Programs hosted “Queers With Careers” Got questions about your career choices? Should you be out on your resume? In the workplace? Is there a Pink Ceiling?


Slide 4:The SDS students union hosted its inaugural conference “Fetish: Working Out The Kinks” This conference provided a unique gathering place for a wide range of individuals. In addition to sexuality researchers, educators, and activists, it included people from all backgrounds, who recognize that the responsibility to cultivate an awareness of the diversity of human sexuality in society belongs to all.


Slide 5:Alumnus Louis Charpentier single handedly raised over $25,000 by participating in the Friends for Life Bike Rally 2008 Top Fundraiser by over $8,000!


Slide 6:Queer Salon is a gathering of LGBTQ students partly to amuse one another, partly to refine our tastes, and increase our knowledge through conversation and readings U of T students were invited to attend five different Queer Salons


Slide 7:U of T was one of only 25 employers recognized as a Best Diversity Employer in Canada by the Toronto Star The competition was conducted by Mediacorp Canada Inc. in partnership with the Toronto Star. The Greater Toronto's Top Employers special designation recognizes GTA employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces. U of T received specific commendation for “initiatives in anti-racism, LGBT issues and the status of women"


Slide 8:Alumnus, Dr. James D. Stewart hosted the 10th anniversary of the Sexual Diversity Studies Program Inside this dazzling 18,000 sq ft private residence, alumni and friends rubbed elbows with enthusiastic supporters of one of the most exciting developments in Canadian university life. Slide 9:The University of Toronto Alumni Association is headed by the first openly gay president In 2008 Paul generously made a remarkable $1 million dollar gift to the School of Public Policy and Governance Paul Cadario BASc 1973 APSE


Slide 10:The task of the conference was to promote awareness of the role that the LGBT community plays in organizations, to provide a space for students to interact with professionals and share ideas and experiences, and to foster mentorship by exposing students to strong leaders and role models that have paved the way for the LGBT community. Students at the Rotman School of Management organized Out on Bay Street
