Premium member Presentation Transcript UKCC Resource Development : UKCC Resource Development Steve McQuaid and Emma Atkins sports coach UK Background : Background To inform partners of how sports coach UK current resources map across to the UKCC Making the most effective use of information that is currently held by sports coach UK to benefit the wider development of the UKCC Action and results : Action and results Around 15 ‘core’ texts were audited Results showed that many texts mapped across levels. Results bitty and difficult to explain Challenges faced Subjective, inconsistencies “lost in translation” – mapping resource to criteria meant lots of references of different chapters of resources Learning resources – more than text – flexibility of needs from sports Moving challenges to opportunities : Moving challenges to opportunities Process revised – what will be our starting point? The information mapping process – taking present resources, including information from initial process and looking at what we have, what needs enhancing and what we have not. The Mapping Process - Explained : The Mapping Process - Explained The interpretation document as a starting point to give more of a guide to people involved in information mapping What information does sports coach UK have that would hit these elements where is the information? what format is it in? was the ‘emphasis’ right? Overview of observations : Overview of observations Relatively small amounts of ‘how’ information across all the levels Reasonable amounts of ‘what’ information Current written resources don’t map holistically to specific levels (although some content/information does) Resources don’t overtly reflect principles of UKCC (e.g. integration) Next stages – building on good information : Next stages – building on good information From the mapping information gained What do we have? What format it is in? How up to date is the information? What gaps are emerging? Who will fill these gaps? How can we use the information we have got and enhance it? What formats? What content? When will it be ready? Sharing of information regarding the development of new resources for UKCC Commitment to new resources on How to skills at L1-3 Results to date on UKCC website end July Where do you see your emphasis – how could we work more effectively How can we work together – what do you want? Assistance to gather evidence of learners needs – research. Moving forward together…. : Moving forward together…. Reflect on your coaches needs – “Mrs Fantastic” Build on the good information we all hold for coaches Take the key points from the workshops to help you move forward. Don’t forget text – be creative – training opportunity Some time for reflection : Some time for reflection Time in smaller groups to reflect on what you have heard this morning. Reflecting back into your own practice – what might you do differently or focus on – sharing – this may not have been prompted by and maybe what already doing anyway either way Asking any questions for clarification What support can we give to and would you like from each other to create a learning community for all coaches?
