Educational Reform : 

Educational Reform 1996 Act on VET and AE: Employers, unions and representatives of education were responsible for designing the Qualification structure Ministry of education only approves Colleges responsible for the curriculum Colleges merged to larger institutions with a complete offer in programmes: all programmes for all students ”just around the corner”

VET in the new structure : 

VET in the new structure Most qualifications aimed on professional skills >>> no competences in PhEd and sports Colleges responsible for curriculum Financial problems colleges Result: PhEd and sports were skipped from the programmes

What to do about it? : 

What to do about it? 1997 questions in the Parliament Research on position PhEd in colleges Ministry of Education started projects to improve position PhEd Some colleges worked out good practice to show value of PhEd in programmes

What’s happening in the colleges Programmes in natural learning (competence-based learning) Programmes to train key-competences Orientation programmes in trend sports (streetdance, skating, squash, tai boo, climbing, archery, survival, golf) Fitness programmes related to the profession Ergonomics and prevention programmes Projects working together with sport clubs Day-activities (speed-skating,rowing, horse-riding) and week activities (skiing, survival, sailing)
