Together, we are an ocean.”Ryunsuke Satoro Benefits of Agency Partnering : Benefits of Agency Partnering Creates a One-Stop Shop for Resources Increased attendance at meetings Shared meeting responsibilities Expanded support system Expanded Agency Outreach Leadership Creates A One-Stop Shop for Resources : Creates A One-Stop Shop for Resources Partnering creates a wealth of information and resources available for many needs. Partnering creates a great networking system. Both of these assets can help expedite solutions to issues brought forth by coalition community members. Increased Attendance at Meetings : Increased Attendance at Meetings When having one combined coalition agency meeting instead of several separate meetings, you are apt to get more attendance and participation from the community. Remember, meeting attendees are coming on their own time, so why not make it convenient for them; hold meetings during lunch hours with lunch provided. Shared Meeting Responsibilities : Shared Meeting Responsibilities With partnering, coalition meeting responsibilities can be shared. Split the cost of coalition meeting lunches or designate which agency will provide lunch for specific meetings Creation and distribution of monthly meeting reminders, agendas, sign-in sheets, and minutes to all coalition members Expanded Support System : Expanded Support System With coalition partnering there is always someone available that can facilitate the meeting should other commitments arise. This prevents having to cancel regularly scheduled coalition meetings and allows the progress of the coalition to continue uninterrupted. Expanded Agency Outreach : Expanded Agency Outreach It is impossible to be in two places at one time. When events overlap partnering agencies can help distribute each others collaterals and resource information. Leadership : Leadership Use your partner agencies to create leadership teams or committees for your coalitions. Hold monthly leadership meetings with your partners to network and compare upcoming events in and about the communities you serve Hold brainstorming sessions with your leadership team to create solutions to issues and problems in these communities that your coalition members have voiced concerns over. Starting a Coalition? : Starting a Coalition? Contact key community members and agencies in your service areas. State and Government Agencies Faith-based organizations Community Service Agencies Any sector that would be beneficial to your coalition Slide 11: Set a coalition meeting date, time, and place and invite these key community members and agencies. Build partnerships from your coalition meeting attendees. Have an existing coalition? : Have an existing coalition? Look at the members of your coalition, build your partnerships from your attendees.
