SOCCER 1st Xl vs NBHS Loss 2 - 1

SOCCER : 

SOCCER 2nd Xl vs CHBC 1st Xl Win 2 – 1 A great game which was controlled by Lindisfarne throughout. Passing to feet and strong attacking play was superb. Goals to J Taylor and F Le Cendrier. MVP MG Shim who worked tirelessly in defense.

SOCCER : 

SOCCER 3rd Xl vs St Johns 3rd Xl Loss 0 – 1 Scrappy game with many chances not taken. R Smyth made some excellent saves that helped shut down their attack. Frustration in second half led eventually to a break down in defense and they scored 11 minutes before full time whistle.

SOCCER : 

SOCCER 4th Xl vs Karamu 2nd Xl Loss 1 – 10 Lindisfarne struggled against a superior team. A goal to R Ennis reflected the outstanding effort he put in both on attack and defense.

SOCCER : 

SOCCER Junior A vs HBHS Loss 5 – 2 A disappointing result against a team we beat 3 – 1 in the first round. Too many of us lacked passion and commitment and we didn’t have our usual “zip”. A great goal by M Francis after 12 minutes but we were 1 – 3 down at half time. A change in formation to try to score an equalizer saw us concede another two goals. Solid efforts by C Sceats, D Thompson, T Mackintosh. POD M Francis

SOCCER : 

SOCCER Junior B vs NBHS Loss 1 – 2 A narrow loss in a very good game. Strong individual performances but failed to play as a team.

SOCCER : 

SOCCER Junior C vs Colenso Loss 2 – 1 Lindisfarne played reasonably well but lost focus and structure and Colenso scored a last minute goal from a corner to win the game.

SOCCER : 

SOCCER Junior D vs St Johns Draw 2 – 2 A great game. Two goals to G Pohio. POD J Bullivant. A very evenly matched game. Lindisfarne kept great formation and communicated well. Great confidence shown by all.

SOCCER : 

SOCCER Intermediate A vs Maycenvale Win 3 – 0 A scrappy first half saw Lindisfarne only have a 1 goal lead at half time. An improved passing performance in the second half allowed Lindisfarne to score a further two goals.

SOCCER : 

SOCCER Intermediate B vs Irongate Loss 0 – 6 Once again our team is finding the pace, size, skill and age of some of our opponents daunting. However the team is showing signs of improvement especially passing and controlling the ball. L Birrell had a great game in the mid field
