Interresting report Combines a 2-phase system with GDE-matrix concept Not a revolution but evolution – easier to implement Developed in cooperation with driving schools association – a premise for success Model : Model Flexible but clear structure and progression Intentions in the GDE matrix well treated Stepwise achievement of competence Many mandatory lessons as a minimum (but in real life = maximum?) Unclear about consequences for not ”A4 – persons” (unstructured) if they exceed 12 months How do you create different weather situations without using simulator? Can such simulators be financed in rural areas? Objectives : Objectives A system of achieving objectives – not rigid methods Will the objectives be described in more detail in a curriculum or must the driving instructor create individual plans themselves where he makes interpretations of the main objectives? (Balance between instructors freedom and public objectives) How carry out supervision within such wide frames? Learning process : Learning process + Main impression: Longtime learning process through guidance and assessment with feedback - a modern and good approach + Focus on self evaluation in many situations and stages - training for lifelong self evaluation + Main focus on learning! – not teaching Accompanied driving : Accompanied driving Possibility for accompanied driving (but can the two opportunities be mixed?) Is the accompaning person expected to take the role as a lay instructor? What sort of competence will he/she need and how do they get it? (Instruction permit, same amount of lessons, use of the term coaching) Can the amount of lessons of accompanied driving / log book be controlled? Not all teachers suitable Neglecting: Some did not open the new curricula the first year Did not really understood the basic model Many have still not seen the red line Demands a very active role by the instructor: more focus on planning the learning situation (more costs) Huge effort in the implementation process needed – short voluntary courses not sufficient. Who has the competence and capacity to upgrade all instructors?
