HTTPserver Does filter role in the client-server scheme. It has number of commands and interprets only them making appropriate requests and sending responses. DBserver Does storage of the data and has a role of backoffice system server. In some cases may be one machine for both web and database servers. firewall Does protection of Local Area Network perimeter and needs to be configured to enable incoming connections on single TCP/IP port which might use filters or other level of protection, e.g. that port may be not a standard SSL 443 port.
