EMPLOYER AWARDS : 

EMPLOYER AWARDS Purpose Properly honoring employers and supervisors who support members of the Reserve Components (RC) is an ongoing commitment of ESGR.

Goals : 

Goals Area Chair- Appoint an “Area Awards Chair” Area Awards Chair responsibilities Track Award Status www.iowaesgr.org This is the starting point (military) Narrative examples

EMPLOYER AWARDS : 

EMPLOYER AWARDS Awards currently available to honor deserving employers: Patriotic Employer Award Area Chair Award State Chair Award Above and Beyond Award Pro Patria Award Freedom Award (National program Nov-Jan)

EMPLOYER AWARDS : 

Patriotic Employer Award Any member of the Guard or Reserve can nominate their employer at www.iowaesgr.org All submittals will receive this award. Award is comprised of a certificate and a lapel pin EMPLOYER AWARDS

Submission Process : 

Submission Process Nominated online – www.iowaesgr.org Exhibit Arts Prints Sent to State 3 to 4 weeks Sent to designated volunteer Packet Includes: Award, Information Sheet, Press Release and a presentation script and an SOS if they have not signed one.

Setting up a Presentation : 

Setting up a Presentation Awards Summary Sheet – who to contact first? Nominator Company HR or Public Affairs Awardee Media Ensure employer approves Press releases available at www.iowaesgr.org Presenting Example presentation Please send photo with names to state office.

EMPLOYER AWARD : 

EMPLOYER AWARD Area Chair Award Employers are selected by the Area Chair from within their area. Recommended by area volunteers A request is made to the State Office to print the certificate.

EMPLOYER AWARD : 

EMPLOYER AWARD State Chair Award The State Chair selects deserving employers. Recommended by Area Chairs State Office prints a certificate.

EMPLOYER AWARDS : 

Above and Beyond Award: Employers who have adopted Above and Beyond the requirements of the USERRA during the calendar year. Employers will have been awarded the Patriot Award previously. Awardees are selected by a State Awards Committee (Assembled in February) EMPLOYER AWARDS

EMPLOYER RECOGNITION & AWARDS : 

Pro Patria Award: Highest State Level Award Employer(s) who demonstrate exceptional support for employees who participate in the Guard and Reserve. Each year, Field Committees may select a maximum of three Pro Patria Award winners. (Large, Small and Public) Awardees are selected by a State Awards Committee EMPLOYER RECOGNITION & AWARDS

National Freedom Award : 

Freedom Award Awarded by the Secretary of Defense to the top 15 employers nationwide Categories include: small companies (less than 500 employees) large companies (500 or more employees) and municipal/government employers Employers can only be nominated by one of their Guard or Reserve employees Separate nomination process from the previous awards. National Freedom Award

VOLUNTEER AWARDS& RECOGNITION State Level Outstanding performance Service Awards Seven Seals Award New Volunteer of the Year Volunteer of the Year Area of the Year Nomination process Nominated by: Area Chairs Area Volunteers How? Nomination packet to include: Written narrative Volunteer hours/events Pro-activeness CATEGORIES OF VOLUNTEER AWARDS Awards Committee Selects award recipients based on submitted packet.

VOLUNTEER AWARDS& RECOGNITION SEVEN SEALS AWARD Given to Committee Volunteers/Others by the Field Committee Chair, to recognize significant achievement in promoting ESGR objectives over a sustained period of time.
