Premium member Presentation Transcript Slide 1: Alfred Adler Elementary 2010 Saving wild birds since 1972 : Saving wild birds since 1972 Some birds would do anything to get in to the hospital and rescue center. Others took full advantage of their accommodations. It all started with one man saving one Cormorant : It all started with one man saving one Cormorant And grew … and grew We Saw… : We Saw… Egret’s And some babies too. We also found… : We also found… Hawks (some have lived there for over 20 years) Owls Spoonbills And many more… And several different kinds of pelicans. : And several different kinds of pelicans. Some where indigenous… Some where just visiting. No matter what kind they were all treated with great care. : No matter what kind they were all treated with great care. Over 159 species Up to 10,000 wild injured birds 23-30 arrive everyday The kids had a chance to ask questions… : The kids had a chance to ask questions… Waiting as each student took their turn : Waiting as each student took their turn while dodging “droppings” : while dodging “droppings” They discovered birds need our help. : They discovered birds need our help. New meaning to the term “lunch line” : New meaning to the term “lunch line” Some birds watched over us… : Some birds watched over us… While the kids took advantage of the great beach weather : While the kids took advantage of the great beach weather Playing in the waves : Playing in the waves Or in the shade… : Or in the shade… Sandcastles : Sandcastles And Sand-Cities were built : And Sand-Cities were built Teachers looked protectively : Teachers looked protectively While the kids had fun in the sun. : While the kids had fun in the sun.
