I’m a Christian, Now What? a six part study in the book of Ephesians

Living in GraceEphesians 1:15-2:10 A New Relationship With God “...so that you may know him better...” We can know God God created Adam and Eve for each other. A relationship meant for good was given. Did you ever believe that God actually wanted to know you?

Living in GraceEphesians 1:15-2:10 A New Relationship With Others (the Church of God) “God placed all things unders his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church...” All of the believers of Christ together, past and present, make up the church. God has promised to be with us when we meet together with other believers. (Matthew 18:20) Having a supportive faith community is essential to growing in your relationship with Christ. (Hebrews 10:23-25)

Living in GraceEphesians 1:15-2:10 A New Ruler Slave to Sin “…when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air…” Whether or not you acknowledged it, before you came into a saving relationship with Christ, you were a slave to sin. (Romans 6:17) The slavery to sin that existed in your life was unique because you willingly lived life in this slavery.

Living in GraceEphesians 1:15-2:10 A New Ruler Slave to Righteousness “…God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions…” Jesus’ death on the cross released you from a life of slavery to sin. (Romans 6:18) By believing in Christ you are leaving your former way of living against God and are now starting a new life in Christ. (Hebrews 12:1)

Living in GraceEphesians 1:15-2:10 A New Reality Christ’s Kindness “…he might show the incomparable riches of his grace expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus…” It is the kindness of God that made grace possible in our lives. (Ephesians 1:8) God is not disappointed in us. He is slow to anger and abounding in faithfulness. (Psalm 86:15)

Living in GraceEphesians 1:15-2:10 A New Reality Christ’s Grace “…for it is by grace you have been saved through faith…” Your standing before God has been changed. (2 Corinthians 5:17-21) God did all of this because he loves you. He wants you to share this grace with others. (1 Timothy 1:15-17)
