Premium member Presentation Transcript E-Learning Initiative for Transitioning Face-to-Face Faculty to Blackboard 9 : E-Learning Initiative for Transitioning Face-to-Face Faculty to Blackboard 9 LORNA GAGNEUX 893.645 Transitioning Faculty : Transitioning Faculty Current version Blackboard 7.3 will not be supported – fall 2010. eLearning Services (distance learning) will transition fully online teaching faculty using Online Express course developed by Technology Resource Center Instructional Designer. Technology Resource Center is responsible for transitioning face-to-face faculty to Blackboard 9. Objectives : Objectives Develop departmental training resources using train-the-trainer format. Standardize use of Bb9 features by F2F faculty. Trainers work a team activity to develop core components for a master course. Trainers will develop Bb master course shell for their department. Outcomes for F2F Faculty : Outcomes for F2F Faculty Mentoring resource within each academic department. Access to anytime, anywhere ‘just-in-time’ training. Familiarity with Wimba synchronous/asynchronous resource for training and archived sessions. Standardize use of Bb9 features. Improved proficiency with Blackboard. eLearning Platform : eLearning Platform A combination of face to face and Wimba web conferencing “train the trainer” sessions. Just-in-time online tutorials, short granular content specific ‘How-To’s, to review anytime, anywhere from TRC portal page. Synchronous topic specific Wimba web conferencing sessions by department request to meet the specific departmental needs. Archived Wimba synchronous sessions available online for review by other academic departments and to address FAQs. eLearning Platform : eLearning Platform Just-in-time online tutorials, content specific ‘How-To’s, to review anytime, anywhere from TRC portal page. eLearning Platform : eLearning Platform Current tutorials will be updated for Bb9 withCaptivate 4 for 508 compliance. eLearning Platform : eLearning Platform Blackboard9 link will be added under Training on the TRC portalpage. Quantitative assessment of faculty participation, access of resources, requests for training, assistance and FAQs. Evaluation of participating faculty at end of fall 2010 semester.
