SERC has built up an excellent tower testing facility, which ranks among the best in the world and has developed high level R&D expertise for the analysis, design and testing of towers and tower like structures. Its Tower Testing and Research Station at Tirusulam for testing towers up to a height of 65m and base dimensions of 22.5 x 22.5 m and cross-arm width up to 36 m, uses electro-hydraulic servo system. TTRS conducts full scale testing of prototype towers for tower manufacturers and user organisations.
