Slide 2: 

1.1 1.2 (1 ) INSTALLATION OF POWER TO THE PCOS (1) Open the Printer Cover, take out the I-Button (Security Key) (2) Close the printer cover. (3) Check the power supply specifications if it conforms with the PCOS machine requirements. (4) Plug the power supply to the wall outlet. (5) Connect the power supply to the PCOS machine. (PCOS machine will automatically start) PCOS machine is booting up

2.1 2.2 (2 ) ACCESSING THE MAIN MENU PCOS will beep to indicate that it is ready to accept instructions from BEI. Press firmly the security key to the security key receptacle

(2 ) ACCESSING THE MAIN MENU BEI presses firmly the PCOS iButton security key and waits for the unit to accomplish its initial start up. Note: If the PCOS iButton security key is not properly pressed into the receptacle, an ‘ERROR IN VALIDATING SECURITY KEY’ message appears.

3.2 Enter the PIN code for POLL CLERK and press the Enter button. Press ‘OPEN VOTING' to open the election (3) OPEN VOTING Screen displays the following message after a successful PIN entry. 3.1

3.3 (3) OPEN VOTING Enter the PIN code for 3RD MEMBER and tap the Enter button. Screen displays the following message after a successful PIN entry. Note: If the first PIN Code entry is successful and the 2nd PIN Code entry is unsuccessful; repeat only the 2nd PIN Code Entry. There no maximum numbers of attempts for unsuccessful pin code entries

4.1 Select the “INITIALIZE VOTE COUNTERS” button to print the initialization report (4) INITIALIZING REPORTS PCOS displays the message while it is initializing vote counters (left image) PCOS then displays the status of its initialization (right image)

4.2 An Initialization Report (Zero Report) will be printed to confirm that all results are zero. PCOS then displays the OPEN status and “Please insert ballot” message on the screen. After this PCOS will display the message "WOULD YOU LIKE TO PRINT MORE COPIES OF THIS REPORT?" plue the option "YES" and "NO" (4) INITIALIZING REPORTS Note: The Initialization Report contains spaces for BEI signatures and thumb prints. All copies of the initialization report must be signed and thumbprints should be affixed. The LCD screen would display that it is ready to accept votes

5.1 5.2 (5 ) VOTING PROCESS The LCD screen would display that it is ready to accept votes The proper way to insert the ballot

6.1 6.2 (6 ) CLOSE VOTING Press the Ibutton to the Security Key Receptacle to activate the Main Menu Press the “CLOSE VOTING” option

6.3 6.4 Enter the first PIN code and tap the Enter button. Screen displays the following message after a successful PIN entry. A confirmation screen would display in the LCD tap the “YES” button to confirm (6 ) CLOSE VOTING

9.1 9.2 (9 ) TRANSMISSION After the BEI plugs the transmission cable, the PCOS would automatically transmit the results to the designated recipients. Screen displays the message for preparing for transmission of results to designated locations *MBOC/ KBP/ Central Server electronically transmitting election reports to CENTRAL SERVER*   please wait. . . Screen displays a confirmation message indicating that transmission is ready. READY TO TRANSMIT PLEASE PLUG IN TRANSMISSION CABLE TO ELECTRONICALLY TRANSMIT ELECTION REPORTS AND PRESS OK TO CONTINUE OK TRANSMITTING FILE TO MBOC PLEASE WAIT . . .

9.3 (9 ) TRANSMISSION A message confirming successful transmission of all results is displayed. Transmission report is also printed on thermal paper. ALL ELECTION REPORTS HAVE BEEN SUCCESFULLY TRANSMITTED TO 3/3 LOCATION PLEASE DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CABLE

9.1.1 (9 ) TRANSMISSION – Printing 22 copies PCOS will request for a fresh set of thermal paper before it can print the remaining 22 copies of ER’s

10.1 (10 ) BACKUP RESULTS AND SHUTDOWN Note: PCOS can still function without the backup memory card placed in the backup memory compartment but it cannot produce a back-up copy of the main memory. Press the “BACKUP & PROTECT” button.

10.2 (10 ) BACKUP RESULTS AND SHUTDOWN Press the shutdown button to start the process in shutting down the PCOS machine. 10.3 The screen will ask you if you are certain that you want to shut down the PCOS, Tap “YES” The screen will display that the PCOS is shutting down
