Introduction :
Introduction The flower have adapted the ability to carry out sexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction in angiosperm, like in humans, involves the fusion of two gamete ( male and female) to make a zygote (fertilization). The zygote develops into an embryo. The flower contains the male stamen and female reproductive organs. the female reproductive organs is the carpel and the male reproductive organ is the stamen. After fertilization, the carpel becomes the fruit of the plant and contains the seeds. Most plants contain both carpel and stamen and is called bisexual.
Structure of flower :
Structure of flower Petals: Usually bright colored and scented. The color and scent attracts insects to flower to bring about pollination.
Sepals: usually green and smaller than petals. They protect the flower in a bud.
Stamen: this is the male reproductive organ of the flower. It consists os a stalk called the filament, with an anther on the end. Each anther consists of four pollen sacs in which pollen grains are made by mitosis.
