Casting. :

Casting.

Josh TatePlayed by Neil McDermott :

Josh TatePlayed by Neil McDermott Connor Johnston is a former SAS soldier who quit the army after discovering a secret and getting into an explosive argument with his boss, was arrested and sent back to the United Kingdom after promising to keep the happenings of the SAS secret. Soon after he joined a political activist group and was very angry about politics, especially after what he learnt in the SAS. It was there he met Pam, who he fell in love with and married. Soon later, they had a child, James. I have chosen actor Neil McDermott for this part in my show as he is a young attractive upcoming actor who has recently worked on British soap opera Eastenders as Ryan Malloy. I believe he would get the attention of the female audience for his looks and also the male audience as on the show Eastenders, he plays a ‘Bad boy’ character which is similar to the character he plays on Innocent.

Pam TatePlayed by Alison King :

Pam TatePlayed by Alison King Pam Tate, formally known as Pam Burns is an office worker and wife of John Tate and mother of James Tate. She is very busy and works a lot although seems like a happy person and becomes very emotional when husband Josh is accused of blowing up the houses of parliament and doesn't believe him. Although this being her cover, Her real name is Samantha Miller, she was assigned on a mission to spy on Josh Tate and act like she is in love with him. Throughout the 4 years, she is framing him, for example getting his finger prints, hair and other DNA which could be used to frame him. She is doing this for profit and is described as being ‘just in it for the money’ In the end, she finally realises she is in love with him and shoots her father who is the boss in the head. I have chosen actor Alison King for this role as she has had experience in the British soap opera Coronation Street playing Carla Connor who on there acts like what is described as a ‘bitch’ as when she does something bad, she looks as if she doesn’t care. Although when her Husband and brother Liam died in the soap, she was very emotional. These who things are very similar to the way she acts in my TV show. As she is a attractive woman, I believe that this will bring in the male viewers.

Steven TrumpPlayed by John Simm :

Steven TrumpPlayed by John Simm Steven Trump is a lawyer who is the only person who believes that Josh Tate is innocent and finds evidence which prove he is, he tells Josh that the one thing he needs to prove his innocence is a hard drive which has everything on it that proves that he is not the person responsible and he was set up. Although helping him, Josh later finds out that Steven is working for another group who is setting Josh up for a different crime because as Josh is framed for blowing up the houses of parliament, he will be likely be responsible for another crime. I have chosen actor John Simm to play this character as I believe that he would suit it very well. He is a very well known actor who has been in TV shows such as Doctor Who and My Life on Mars and described as ‘A sexy killer’ in it, which I believe will bring in the female audience and also I believe that his wide fan base will bring in viewers to watch this.

JonesPlayed by Roger Kennedy :

JonesPlayed by Roger Kennedy Jones is an assassinator who works for the company who are trying to kill Josh Tate. He is one of the men we see frequently throughout and becomes somebody who is a ‘love to hate’ character as the audience would always want to get rid of him and kill him, yet love his ‘bad boy’ type of character. He wears a suit and sunglasses and seems to have no remorse for his killings as he sees it as just a job. Very little is known about this character as he seems to be very dark and mysterious. I have chosen actor Roger Kennedy for this part as I believe he has the ‘bad boy’ look about him. He is an unknown actor who has been in films such as ‘24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE’ as just a doorman although he has had experience and he has also completed a 1 year acting course. I believe that him being on this TV show will make him very well known and very popular in TV show villians.

Mr MillerPlayed by Lawrence Press :

Mr MillerPlayed by Lawrence Press Grant Miller (Known as Mr. Miller) isn’t seen very much and seems very mysterious. He is the leader of the company, and the person responsible for setting up Josh Tate. We are told that he is the step father of Josh and father of Pam Tate (Real name Samantha Miller). He wears a suit and seems very calm although his mind is very dangerous as when he gives orders to do something, he doesn’t look angry as if what he just said was a simple task. He describes Josh as a very smart man and just a fall guy. We are not properly told the reason for him blowing up the houses of parliament apart from that he wants to be in power. I have chosen Lawrence Press for this role as he is an unknown actor and therefore people do not know much about him or what he is like. He has only done ‘various extra work’ up until now. Just like Roger Kennedy, I believe that this actor would become very popular as he is mysterious and this could be the start of his career.
