Premium member Presentation Transcript Slide 1: Poem Collection 4 The Bells Slam, Dunk, & Hook Jabberwocky Slide 2: In this collection of poems we are going to use alliteration, consonance, assonance and onomatopoeia. Slide 3: Alliteration: is the repetition of the initial constant sounds of words as in the phrase “dark days.” Consonance: is the repetition of consonants within nearby words in which the separating vowels differ, as in the phrase “live and love” Assonance: is the repetition of vowel sounds in nearby words, as in the phrase “child of silence”. Onomatopoeia: is the word use of a word whose sound imitates its meaning. Examples of such words are buzz, hiss, thud, and sizzle. Slide 4: The Bells Slide 5: The bells. Alliteration: terror tells Consonance: frantic fire Assonance: rhyming and chiming Onomatopoeia: clang, and clash and roar Slide 6: An onomatopoeia on the bells is clang, and clash and roar. The onomatopoeia imitates a sound that the bells do and it helps give life to the poem or to understand it better. The word imitated the sound really good cause people can understand what is saying. Slide 7: the poem the bells is about the different kinds of bells, their sounds and the occasions of them. It tells about how bells capture moments. Slide 8: Slam, Dunk, & Hook Slide 9: THE POEM SLAM, DUNK, & AND HOOK IS ABOUT THE EMOTIONS IN A BASKETBALL GAME, AND THE MOVEMENT AND SHOTS AND JUST HOW YOU FEEL PLAYING IT. Slide 10: Slam, dunk, and hook Alliteration: dribble drive Consonance: but a hot. Assonance: swish and strings, glide like Onomatopoeia: swish. Slide 11: In the poem slam, dunk,& hook the poet uses onomatopoeia when he is telling how he feels when he shoots and he uses swish of stings like silk and he makes the sound of the shot and how he felt when he shot that. Slide 12: Jabberwocky Slide 13: Jabberwocky Alliteration: tumtum tree Consonance: snicker- snack Assonance: jaws and claws Onomatopoeia: burbled Slide 14: THE POEM JABBERWOCKY IS A MADE UP STORY ABOUT A MONSTER THAT GOT KILLED THE POEM IS MADEUP OF MADEUP WORDS THAT HELP THE POET USE ALLITERATION.
