Sporting venues The 2012 Olympics will use a mixture of newly built venues, existing facilities, and temporary facilities, some of them in well known locations such in London such as Hyde Park and Horse Guards Parade. New stadiums built will help the regeneration of Stratford in east London which will be the site of the Olympic Park, and of the neighbouring Lower Lea Valley. The majority of venues have been divided into three zones within Greater London: the Olympic Zone, the River Zone and the Central Zone. In addition to these are those venues that, by necessity, are outside the boundaries of Greater London.

Outside Greater London Three of the venues will be outside Greater London: Broxbourne Hertfordshire will have canoe/kayak events along with Dorney Lake in Buckinghamshire Mountain biking will be in Hadleigh Country Park in Essex Sailing events will be held in Portland Harbour in Dorset Football The earlier stages of the football competition will be played at Millenium Stadium in Cardiff Old Trafford, Manchester St James, Newcastle National Football Stadium, Belfast Hampden Park, Glasgow

River Zone·River The ExCel Exhibition centre will have boxing,fencing,judo,table tennis,taekwondo,weightlifting and wrestling. The O2 arean will have gynmastics, trampoling and basketball Equestrianism will be at Grennwich Park Shooting will be at the Royal Artillery Barracks.
