Aims & Objectives : 

Aims & Objectives Purpose: To open the window of fathomless wisdom and joy through great mother nature for the citizens of the world. Aims: Teaching moral values to young explorers, sense of eco friendliness, courage to complete difficult task, and to be a truthful patriot to a country one belongs to. The instructors makes learning fun, safe and at a same time strict in maintaining discipline. All of our instructors are highly qualified.

Thar Desert The Thar Desert (Hindi: Thar Marusthal), also known as the Great Indian Desert, is a large, arid region in the north-western part of the Indian subcontinent. With an area of more than 200,000 km2., (77,000 sq. mi.) it is world's 7th largest desert and also Asia's 3rd largest desert. The Thar desert along with the Sahara desert of Africa, Arabian peninsula desert, and Cholistan desert in Pakistan are part of the same desert formation. It lies mostly in the Indian state of Rajasthan, and extends into the southern portion of Haryana and Punjab states and into northern Gujarat state. In Pakistan, the desert covers eastern Sindh province and the south-eastern portion of Pakistan's Punjab province. The Cholistan Desert adjoins the Thar desert spreading into Pakistani Punjab province.

“Osiya Thar”Our Camp Site In old days Osiya was a very big town. Osiya's Telivada was situated 3 miles away in Tinvari village, at 6 miles is Pandit ji ki Dhani (small Village which is Pandit pur), at another 6 miles away village Kshatripura, at 24 miles is Lohavat which was the place of iron smiths colony of Osiya. There were 108 Jain temples in Osiya. Present Osiya is situated about 65 KM North of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It is connected by road & train with Jodhpur and Pokharan. The archaeologist found many old samples such as statues of old times in Osiya. An ancient diety of Harihar, which is known to be half Shiva and half Vishnu is located in Osiya temple. The paintings found in Osiya include Vasudeva with baby Krishna on his head, Krishna fighting with horse, Killing of Putna, Kalidaman, Govardhan Dharan, butter stealing etc. One of the painting also portrays an interesting image of Balram, who is known to be an incarnation of Seshnaga.

Training : 

Training Adventure is the only sport which teaches a true ethics of "life" through courage, harmony and compassion in order to survive the era of competition. Adventure sports are for those who cares for the colleagues legging behind when going gets tough, rather than running after the petty vanity. As the sun rises, the day begins by sessions of training on sand dune walking, camel safari, training on how to survive in desert and desert ecology. In addition, training also involves team management strategies, desert navigation, trekking and camping manner. An evening is welcomed with a sincere prayer and silence followed by folk sangeet and cultural programme. The day ends with singing of a National Anthem with an attitude of spirit and moral discipline.

MEALS ‘Treat in Desert’ : 

MEALS ‘Treat in Desert’ Morning: Bed Tea / Coffee / Bounvita Breakfast: Tea with one recipe daily (Bread butter, Biscuits, Batata Paunwa, Upama or any sprouted grams) Lunch: Chapatti, Two Subji, Dal, Rice, Salad, Pickle & Buttermilk, Papad. Afteroon: Lemon Drinks or Tea/Coffee. Dinner: Bhakri, Kadhi or Dal, Khichadi & Subji, Pickle, Salad. Food can be prepared as per the Group Choice also.

The Boarding Facilities : 

The Boarding Facilities At the ‘Thar Osiya’ - we provide accommodation in the Permanent tents and each tent may have to be shared by the maximum of Six participants. Participants will be provided with a wooden cot and a set of bed, bed sheet, pillow and Rajai / Blanket. Participants are liable to pay for lost and damage of the items provided to them by the Auro Adventure.

Toilet & Bath Facilities : 

Toilet & Bath Facilities Toilets are neat and clean European style permanently fixed structures; made of brick and tile. Please do not waste water since it is precious to all living things. Flowing Water is provided 24 hours and hot water in buckets as and when needed.

Rules & Regulation‘Mantras’ to chant while exploring the Mother Nature Politeness & Humbleness : Remember the Nature is infinitely vast. One cannot fathom its depth and wideness … so be humble and polite when in Nature ‘Take only photograph and leave only foot prints’. Leave no trace and marks of the so called civilization in the form of litter. Prohibition: Consumption of Alcohol [in any form], smoking & chewing of tobacco and using of abusive language are strictly prohibited. Drink the intoxicating nectar of Nature’s sweetness Listen how Nature speaks through rustling of leaves, whispering wind, chirping of birds, murmur of streams… so pure, sweet and harmonious a language. Take care not to disturb the harmony of Nature by abusive words, audio players, walkman or boom boxes. Any lacking, disgraceful act or denial to follow -however slightest- in chanting above Mantras by any inmate or inmates of the camp will result into expulsion from the course and no refund will be made to him/her/them.

The Founder : 

The Founder Mr. Kiran Chavda: A mountaineer, trekker, nature explorer, paragliding & hang-glider pilot, wildlife rescuer, rock climbing & mountaineering instructor and a special training instructor to commandos and officers of Army, CRPF, CISF and SRP. He is dedicated to imparting training in said fields and thousands of children, youth of all ages, army men, mountaineers and instructors have benefited by his expertise.

Adviser Mountaineer & Ornithologist : 

Adviser Mountaineer & Ornithologist Mr. Nikhil Mori is ornithologist, very tough mountaineer and a hardcore trekker a nature explorer, a wildlife rescuer, a rock climbing & mountaineering instructor and He has and is imparting training on mountaineering to the hundreds of mountaineer. He is also an excellent Wild life photographer.

Adviser Mountaineer & Friend : 

Adviser Mountaineer & Friend Surendra Gohil:- He is an integral part our Academy. Lecturer by profession and at the same time very precise planner. Love Himalaya, Oceans & Desert and going there is his passion!

Booking for the Camps : 

Booking for the Camps ‘Auro Adventure’ has decided to run several batches of Desert camps, beginning from the 1st January 2010 to 31st December 2010. Each camp will last for at least three days or more! The camp can take place with minimum of 15 participants and maximum of 90 participants. If demanded, boys and girls camps can be conducted separately.
