The instructors makes learning fun, safe and at a same time strict in maintaining discipline. All of our instructors are highly qualified. Slide 4: Thar Desert The Thar Desert (Hindi: Thar Marusthal), also known as the Great Indian Desert, is a large, arid region in the north-western part of the Indian subcontinent. With an area of more than 200,000 km2., (77,000 sq. mi.) it is world's 7th largest desert and also Asia's 3rd largest desert. The Thar desert along with the Sahara desert of Africa, Arabian peninsula desert, and Cholistan desert in Pakistan are part of the same desert formation. It lies mostly in the Indian state of Rajasthan, and extends into the southern portion of Haryana and Punjab states and into northern Gujarat state. In Pakistan, the desert covers eastern Sindh province and the south-eastern portion of Pakistan's Punjab province. The Cholistan Desert adjoins the Thar desert spreading into Pakistani Punjab province. Route Map of Osiya : Route Map of Osiya “Osiya” The Camp Site – ‘a Home of Nomad Adventurers’ : “Osiya” The Camp Site – ‘a Home of Nomad Adventurers’ “Osiya Thar”Our Camp Site : “Osiya Thar”Our Camp Site In old days Osiya was a very big town. Osiya's Telivada was situated 3 miles away in Tinvari village, at 6 miles is Pandit ji ki Dhani (small Village which is Pandit pur), at another 6 miles away village Kshatripura, at 24 miles is Lohavat which was the place of iron smiths colony of Osiya. There were 108 Jain temples in Osiya. Present Osiya is situated about 65 KM North of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It is connected by road & train with Jodhpur and Pokharan. The archaeologist found many old samples such as statues of old times in Osiya. An ancient diety of Harihar, which is known to be half Shiva and half Vishnu is located in Osiya temple. The paintings found in Osiya include Vasudeva with baby Krishna on his head, Krishna fighting with horse, Killing of Putna, Kalidaman, Govardhan Dharan, butter stealing etc. One of the painting also portrays an interesting image of Balram, who is known to be an incarnation of Seshnaga. Training : Training Adventure is the only sport which teaches a true ethics of "life" through courage, harmony and compassion in order to survive the era of competition. Adventure sports are for those who cares for the colleagues legging behind when going gets tough, rather than running after the petty vanity. As the sun rises, the day begins by sessions of training on sand dune walking, camel safari, training on how to survive in desert and desert ecology. In addition, training also involves team management strategies, desert navigation, trekking and camping manner. An evening is welcomed with a sincere prayer and silence followed by folk sangeet and cultural programme. The day ends with singing of a National Anthem with an attitude of spirit and moral discipline. Participants are liable to pay for lost and damage of the items provided to them by the Auro Adventure. Please do not waste water since it is precious to all living things. Flowing Water is provided 24 hours and hot water in buckets as and when needed. Take care not to disturb the harmony of Nature by abusive words, audio players, walkman or boom boxes. Any lacking, disgraceful act or denial to follow -however slightest- in chanting above Mantras by any inmate or inmates of the camp will result into expulsion from the course and no refund will be made to him/her/them.
