Your Greek Glossary :

Please refer to this list and utilize the information for appropriate terminology. Some of the most notable … “Panhellenic”, not “Pan-Hel” or “Panhel” “Sorority” or “Chapter”, not “House” Difference between Quota & Total Correct abbreviations … PH = Panhellenic CPH = College Panhellenic

Your Role as CPH Delegate :

Your Role as CPH Delegate Serve as a liaison between your chapter and your College Panhellenic. Attend Panhellenic meetings. Promote Panhellenic-sponsored events in your chapter meeting. Vote! In the CPH, the only votes cast are one for each group so YOUR vote represents Tri Sigma in your College Panhellenic! NOTE: There are some issues that will come to a vote in your CPH about which you must immediately contact your chapter’s College Panhellenic Coordinator (CPC) and seek her consultation. If necessary, she will engage our National Panhellenic Conference Delegate.

Your NPC Manual of Information :

Your NPC Manual of Information 14th Edition with updates in January 2009 Visit www.npcwomen.org to access other great resources! Refer to the Manual of Information with questions regarding your College Panhellenic. The Unanimous Agreements Programming Ideas Extension Recruitment Role of the NPC Area Advisor Judicial Procedures

Your Understanding of the NPC UNANIMOUS AGREEMENTS :

Your Understanding of the NPC UNANIMOUS AGREEMENTS Found in the NPC Manual of Information. These procedures and ethics have been agreed to by ALL 26 member groups. Every collegian and alumna is expected to abide by the Unanimous Agreements. Resolutions have been adopted over the years to re-confirm the Unanimous Agreements and to provide additional guidance. See Slide # 24 & 25 for a listing of the NPC Unanimous Agreements.

Your College Panhellenic :

Your College Panhellenic Should have established its own: Constitution and Bylaws Code of Ethics Recruitment rules The UNANIMOUS AGREEMENTS should be incorporated into all these. Use the Manual of Information as a reference guide to your Panhellenic structure & function. [“College Panhellenic Organization” section] Refer to your Sigma PH Delegate Manual for more on the Function & Purpose of your CPH.

Panhellenic Officer Selection :

Panhellenic Officer Selection Varies by campus (Rotation/Election). Want the best qualified women to provide leadership for Panhellenic. The CPH President and Recruitment Director must each have 1 year of CPH experience – so get your Sigma sisters involved with CPH early!

The Panhellenic Judicial Process :

The Panhellenic Judicial Process Refer to the NPC Manual of Information for the detailed process. Judicial process addresses Panhellenic violations and recruitment infractions. If your chapter is reporting a violation or is named in a violation, you must contact your chapter’s CPC immediately to help the chapter.

NPC Release Figures Methodology (RFM) :

NPC Release Figures Methodology (RFM) For CPHs utilizing Fully Structured Recruitment (FSR) or Partially Structured Recruitment with Quota (PSR-Q). Process by which sororities are advised the number of PNMs to invite to each round of formal recruitment. General idea … chapters with higher rates of return throughout recruitment release more PNMs in the early rounds so that all PNMs have the opportunity to explore their viable options.

Slide 16:

RFM has a 3-fold purpose … To enable each sorority to invite a sufficient number of PNMs to each event so as to attain Quota at the end of recruitment. To allow each PNM to investigate realistic options & ultimately match with a sorority for which she has a preference. To maximize the number of PNMs who affiliate with a sorority through formal recruitment.

Slide 17:

Carry Figures are very specific to YOUR chapter and are based upon 3 years of historical Accept Rates. The figure you receive each round is the number of PNMs it is expected that you will need to have present in order to eventually achieve Quota. But while chapter-specific, your Carry Figures are very much intertwined with those of the other NPC groups on your campus. In not adhering to your Carry Figures, you not only harm your whole campus system, but you harm the PNMs’ chances of eventually affiliating with a sorority.

Slide 18:

Facts … More than 325 College Panhellenics across the U.S. & Canada implement this program. Approximately 94% of participating campuses see the number of chapters making Quota stay the same or increase. Your campus will be assigned a trained NPC Release Figures Specialist who will work very closely with your Fraternity/Sorority Advisor before and during formal recruitment.

The Tri Sigma Panhellenic Accreditation Standard :

The Tri Sigma Panhellenic Accreditation Standard Chapter CPH Delegate attends CPH meetings and programming. Chapter follows the rules of the NPC and the College Panhellenic (that is, no major infractions). RFM Reports indicate that chapter followed all assigned RFM Carry Figures during formal recruitment. (if applicable) For Honors … 100% of members attend at least one CPH meeting or CPH-sponsored program per semester. Chapter has members serving as Recruitment Counselors or CPH Officers. A chapter officer meets with the campus F/SA at least once a month during the academic year.

Your Duties in Officer Reporting :

Panhellenic information you will have to provide at the beginning of each semester … PH Recruitment Rules Campus PH Total PH Quota (from the last formal recruitment; if applicable) Membership Totals of each other NPC group on your campus How the PH Officers are chosen (election, rotation) Which sorority currently serves as PH President? Offices that Sigmas hold in the CPH Progress toward completion of the Tri Sigma Panhellenic Accreditation Standard Your Duties in Officer Reporting

Slide 21:

Panhellenic information you will have to provide following your CPH’s structured (formal) recruitment … The number of PNMs registered for formal recruitment The number of PNMs attending at least 1 event The number of PNMs receiving bids (from all groups) Total number of NMs pledged by all groups Did Tri Sigma file any infractions against any other group or individual during formal recruitment? Were any infractions filed against Tri Sigma? Either the chapter or an individual member?

The NPC UNANIMOUS AGREEMENTS :

The NPC UNANIMOUS AGREEMENTS Also included are "highlights" of what each Agreement covers. The Panhellenic Creed … perhaps your CPH recites it at its meetings? Jurisdiction of Panhellenic Associations No CPH can impinge upon the rights of the individual NPC groups. Cannot require a specific GPA for membership (that is higher than the lowest of the groups), lower Quota as a punishment, etc. The Panhellenic Compact Once a woman is initiated into an NPC group she is ineligible for membership in another. A membership bid accepted by a PNM is binding for one year. Standards of Ethical Conduct Members should avoid disparaging remarks about other sorority women. Agreement on Extension NPC considers it unethical for a member group to establish a chapter at a university without an affirmative vote by the CPH. (continued)
