Kulamankuzhy kudi Tribal Settlement
The roaring waters of the Deviyaar (River Devi) blocks the forest path that leads to kulamankuzhi tribal settlement. A small bridge through which auto rickshaws drive through is the sole link to a civilized world. The tribal women of the settlement were motivated to learn how to become dressmakers and become literate in the process. 158 159

Santha, Omana, Pramila, Ambika were among the 18 young illiterate tribal women who enthusiastically participated in the literacy classes .During the three months of training, eleven of them learnt to read well and write simple sentences.
