Inventions : 

Inventions They invented the wheel and discovered how to build sailboats. They invented writing. Social organization was one of their achievements for the Mesopotamians.

Writing and laws : 

Writing and laws The writing started with pictures or signs drawn on clay tablets. Around 4000 years ago, Hammurabi ordered the engraving of a code of law on a stele. It was the world’s first major code of law. The Code of Hammurabi contained 282 articles of law based on values common to Mesopotamians.

Knowledge : 

Knowledge The Mesopotamians discovered geometry and that discovery was very important to them. Geometric calculations enabled them to locate land boundary markers that had been erased by floodwaters.

Arts and crafts : 

Arts and crafts Mesopotamians made pottery, and worked on sculptures. They were very interested in arts especially writing. They studied the stars, planets and Astronomy.

Hammurabi was the king of Mesopotamia. He made lots of codes of law.

Religion and Trades : 

Religion and Trades According to their beliefs, the kin received his powers from the gods. The king was a special intermediary between the gods and the people of the city. The Mesopotamians decided to set up a major trade network with neighbouring peoples. They traded their agricultural products for the materials they lacked.
