You have to know more about this section for advice on how to choose classes suited for both yourrequirements as well as your interests. 1. Planning your schedule: Slide 6: 1.1. What classes do you have to take? you need to determine which classes are required for you to pass to the next grade. 1.2. What classes are available? You need to determine which courses at your school and at what times. Class information from your school websites or lists are usually minimum. Slide 7: 1.3. What classes do you want to take? After you list the classes you need to take you can decide how many elective courses you can take. Slide 8: 2. Knowing what your instructor expects: You should make sure you know what the expectations are for the class. Your instructor will provide you some information such as: Assessments Class policies Contact methods Class participation Questions Slide 9: 3. Preparing for class You will get more from class if you come to class prepared Complete any homework assignments Read any reading assignments Review your notes from the preceding class. Slide 10: 4. Doing your work: You have to do your works on time such as: Home work or daily assignments Reading assignments Quizzes Tests Papers Other assessments. The resource is the “what” of your reading plan Slide 18: 1.3 When is the reading due? - Do your work when it’s assigned. - The length helps you gauge the amount of time you need to read the assignment. Slide 19: II. Getting the most from reading assignment 2.1 Previewing the reading -Skim through the pages -Look at table of contents -Read the introduction -Note any words or phrases that are in bold or italics. -Look at each illustration and read the caption -Look at the end of the chapter or article for a summary.
