About King Faisal University : 

About King Faisal University King Faisal University was founded in the city of Al-Hofuf, Al-Ahsa Province, consisting of two separate colleges that have historically symbolized excellence in the academia and research: the College of Foods & Agricultural Sciences and the College of Veterinary Medicine & Animal Resources. The second branch of the university was then founded in Dammam City, including a College of Medicine & Medical Sciences and a College of Architecture & Planning. These four colleges formed the university’s core, which soon expanded into a comprehensive university consisting of multiple colleges and research centers, including the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Deanship of Academic Research, established in 1984 and 2000 respectively. These departments have enabled the university to offer a number of postgraduate programs and facilitate academic research in most colleges

In addition to sponsoring scientific research, the university has made numerous contributions to the local community and has addressed environmental concerns. In order to expand its reach into society, the university established twelve scientific research centers, including he Date Palms Research Center, Water Research Center, Camel Research Center, Veterinary Research & Animal Husbandry Center, Islamic Architecture & Solar Energy Unit, and Prince Muhammad Bin Fahad Bin Abdulaziz Medical Research Center.

One of the main objectives of the University is to modernize teaching methods. It is also committed to the development of study plans to serve the requirements of the local environment. In this context, the University offers consultancy, guidance and training programs for several bodies in the field of community service. The Community Service Center in the University encourages teaching staff to develop technical skills (in agriculture, commerce, education and engineering) to meet requirements at local community level.

Computer & Information Technology is by far the largest & fastest growing industry in the world. Demand for high performance computing is a driving force for developments in all aspects of business & education. At the same time, computers have become an integral part of many large systems that require sophisticated control, including automobiles, medical instrumentation, telecommunication systems & factory automation. Computers play a major role in many of today's exciting new technologies, including consumer products, interactive multimedia & high-speed computer networks. The development of these applications requires skilful professionals qualified in both hardware & software design. As a result of this increased demand for highly skilled graduates in Information Technology, the College of Computer Science & Information Technology (CCSIT) in King Faisal University (KFU) was established in 2003. I t has roots in the Department of Computer & Information Management Systems (previously part of the College of Management Sciences & Planning) the College of Computer Science & Information Technology

The new Faculty comprises the following Departments : 

The new Faculty comprises the following Departments 1.Computer Science Department (CS) 2.Information Systems Department (IS)3.Computer Engineering Department (CE)4.Communications & Computer Networks Department (CN)Currently, each of the CS & IS Department offers a separate curriculum leading to a B.Sc. Degree in Computer Sciences & Information Systems respectively. On the other hand, the other two departments; CE & CN offer courses that are included in both the Computer Science curriculum & Information Systems curriculum. In the future, each of these two departments will offer a separate curriculum leading to a B.Sc. Degree in Computer Engineering & Computer Networks.
