Copyright Licensing for personal use and for professional reproduction through Photographic Services and Permissions; the low-resolution web images available on the website are suitable for immediate printing or downloading to provide good-quality reference copies for a wide range of creative, research, and educational purposes. Permission : 

Permission Permissions Obtain TIFF files or prints to enhance books, magazine or newspaper article, CD-ROM, website, television program, exhibition, calendar, brochure, or promotional campaign.

Permission Digital Images Graphic or textual materials from the Library’s collections can be digitally scanned and offered as high resolution TIFF files or low-resolution JPEGs. Images are scanned at 300 dpi.

File Format : 

File Format Authority File Images in high-resolution, 300-1200 dpi Simultaneously, three low-resolution, 72-dpi "derivative" files are created for delivery on the web, at 150 pixels (thumbnail or index image), 300 pixels (detail view) and 760 pixels (enlargement), respectively, on the long side.

eNYPL Collection GOOGLE BOOKS NYPL is working with Google to offer a portion of its collection online via Google Book Search. The items being digitized in this project are chosen based on the following criteria: they are in the public domain (published before 1923) and they are in good enough physical condition to withstand scanning.
