The Legislative Branch :
The Legislative Branch The legislative branch of government is considered the heart
It is made up Two Houses the Senate and the House of Representatives
What do they oversee? :
What do they oversee? Taxes- determines what and how much
Spending- what will the state spend money on
Gives authority to counties and towns
Deal with State government and set rules for branches of government
Makes sure state constitutions are observed
Executive Branch :
Executive Branch Responsible for carrying out the laws
There are five elected officers on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania:
Governor
Lieutenant Governor
Auditor General
Treasurer
Attorney General
Judicial Branch :
Judicial Branch Determine what exactly the laws mean
The highest court in PA is the state Supreme Court
There are seven judges all elected by the people
The other courts are : appeals, superior, justice-of-the peace, municipal
The judges are elected and their pay comes from taxes
