Phonemic Awareness: Blending onset and rime; segmenting onset and rime Phonics: Initial Consonant Nn, Compound Words, Syllables and Rhyming Words Comprehension: Conclusions; Character/Setting; Summarize and Evaluate Vocabulary: High Frequency Words Fluency: We will build fluency by rereading familiar text Math We will begin Chapter 5: Plane Shapes and Fractions on Tuesday. Writing We will continue to write personal narratives. We will learn about adding supporting details to our setting. Science We will finish our study of pumpkins. Important Dates: October 27th – October 31st Book Orders are due: Monday, October 27th “Team Tassone” T-shirt order due: Wednesday, October 29th Board Meeting Wednesday, October 22nd Costume Parade and Halloween Party Friday, October 31st Order dinner from Barro’s Pizza the last Thursday of the month and mention our school! and Barro’s Pizza will donate money to our school! "Nine-tenths of education is encouragement." -Anatole France Send Campbell soup labels and box tops for education to school. Carefully cut them out (do not cut off code), put in a ziploc bag and bring to school. Halloween Parade Saddleback Elementary will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 31st with a parade at 8:45am. Please send your child to school dressed in his or her costume (optional). Please remember the costume must be appropriate for school. This includes: No weapons, no make-up or face paint. Thank you and have a happy Halloween! Following the parade we will rotate through each kindergarten class to participate in a Halloween activity. We will have a classroom celebration at the end of the day! Have a safe and Happy Halloween! Book Orders are due: Monday, Oct. 27th!
