Battle of the Brains :Battle of the Brains By: Nikki Piper

3 parts of a brain: :3 parts of a brain: 1. Hind 2. Mid Brain 3. Fore Brain

The Brain at Birth :The Brain at Birth At birth, boys brains are 12-20% larger than the girl’s brain. As an adult, the men’s brain can weigh up to 11-12% more than the women's.

Corpus Callosum :Corpus Callosum The corpus callosum is bigger and more developed in females. The fiber tract is made up of 200-250 million axons which is more developed than the male brain.

Sex Difference? :Sex Difference? It is known that males have more of the jobs such as: Pilots, Mathematicians , and Architects. The females mainly have the jobs such as: nurses, and other human relations. Could this be because their brains function information differently?

Yes. :Yes. Both brains do function differently but there are no structural differences. Males are better with calculations such as math problems while the females are better with verbal learning.

The Domain :The Domain The female brain skills are higher in empathy, verbal and social. This is another reason that the women have the jobs they do. The male brain skills are higher in independence and dominance which is why they mainly work as one person and not groups.

Applying Information :Applying Information The brains also work differently in how they take in information. In males, more of the mechanical information applies to the center of the brain, while in females, more verbal communication and emotion is taking place.

Studies on the Brain :Studies on the Brain In females, the frontal lobe is larger and holds the information for problem-solving, decision making and regulating emotions. In males, the parietal cortex is larger and is involved with sexual and social behaviors.

Metacognition :Metacognition Some people don’t even know what this word means. But, it is learning and understanding how your brain works and how it takes in information. It is a important concept in cognitive theory. Are you a metacognitive learner?

2 basic concepts: :2 basic concepts: It consists of two basic processes such as monitoring your progress as you learn, and making the changes and adapting the strategies. Hopefully by this presentation, you can understand the basic concepts of the brain and how female and male brains differ.
