In ancient China… : 

In ancient China… The Chinese were quite inventors and invented a numerous amount of things. I guess you could really say the Chinese were really ahead of us! More importantly they have a big role in the technology we use today, which is something Europeans could not supply years ago.

These Chinese inventions included… Silk Paper Gunpowder Woodblock Printing Compass Porcelain Typing

Silk : 

Silk The Chinese people managed to learn how to farm all their silk from the silk worm to create fine and impeccable clothing material. Most of these silk fabrics became a hit in Europe. Some Europeans would be willing to travel long distances just to get their hands on the Chinese silk.

Paper : 

Paper Paper came to be invented during the Han dynasty. What is most vital about the invention of paper is the fact that paper itself is one of the greatest inventions of all time. With the use of paper all Chinese people had a rather inexpensive and simple way of keeping down any personal notes and records that made printing possible in the near future.

Gunpowder : 

Gunpowder The invention of gunpowder arose during the Tang dynasty. It was mainly used by the Chinese for fireworks and signals. Through the years the Chinese then discovered a new way of using it for bombs, rockets, explosives and firearms. Most importantly the Chinese changed the course of history with this invention as it still is used today.

Woodblock Printing : 

Woodblock Printing The Chinese people discovered the technique of woodblock printing many years ago. This consisted of carving texts and pictures on a flat piece of woodblock. Followed by painting it with ink, covering it with paper and brushing it clean with a brush.

Compass : 

Compass The compass was invented during the era of the Han dynasty and was later modified by the Tang dynasty. With this invention it allowed people like sailors and merchants to travel great distances. More importantly, it made the traveling experience a lot easier and faster.

Porcelain : 

Porcelain With the invention of porcelain the Chinese were able to create a diversity of items. With the right technique porcelain artists were well known for their incredible work with this delicate material. Porcelain was quite expensive to most European traders and merchants.

Typing : 

Typing The technique of typing was invented during the Song dynasty, with this creation printing was made much faster. Furthermore, typing allowed many Chinese people to write and restore an abundant amount of books. Carved letters could also be used to print any wanted messages the Chinese people needed.
