Objectives Also learn about some of the example of the wiki uses. Students will be able to learn about some uses of wikis.

Use 1 : 

Use 1 1.Creating a knowledge base on a specific topic (example wikimac) WikiMac for short, is a free, open information knowledgebase about everything related to the Apple Macintosh. These wikis welcome every bit of information concerning the Macintosh

Use 2 : 

Use 2 Brainstorming (example scratchpad) Scratchpad is a place to test wiki ideas and to build wikis that do not meet the wikia creation policy

Use 3 : 

Use 3 Learning writing through online collaboration ( schools) High school collaboration online writing is a Wikia for use by schools. This wiki has the aim of promoting collaborative writing and providing a test area where students can do that. Teachers are invited to set up school projects within the wiki. There are no set criteria for the content.

Use 4 : 

Use 4 Creating promotional material (example Mozilla community The Mozilla community Wikia is a community project which will include user created materials, tutorials, and information. It will be a home for a list of user created materials used to promote Firefox and other Mozilla.org products.

Use 5 : 

Use 5 Translating documents together (Translation) The translation Wikia is for collaborative translations of free texts and fair use extracts. The wiki also provides a meeting space with information about translation, and from translators. Information and discussion on the theory and techniques of translation will be included.

Use 6 Bringing together a community for activism (example activism) The Activism Wikia is a place for sharing information about all forms of activism.

Use 7 : 

Use 7 Political campaigns (examples Eagle party) The Eagle party is a collaborative effort to develop a viable political party based on social liberalism, fiscal conservatism, and aggressive foreign policy.
