OB PROBLEMS ERIC’S COMPANY IS FACING Communication gap in the organization- manager knew virtually nothing about the people he would be managing, or the kind of work they did. Job satisfaction- clerks were not satisfied with their jobs, so number of absentees were high. Goal/target/objective –a target was not assigned to the clerks or to the sales man Team work- they work not working as a unit. Data interpretation- looking for the stock in a large catalogue is handy. Time management- a norm that specified time to a particular call of a sales man was not made Untrained clerks- part time clerks came directly to the floor without any basic training about the kind of work Repo- a sales man calling in his company from customer cell/mobile for more than 15 minutes creates the situation of hapless and impatience.

ACTIONS THAT CAN BE TAKEN TO TACKLE THE PROBLEMS : 

ACTIONS THAT CAN BE TAKEN TO TACKLE THE PROBLEMS Proper management- study each part of a task and develop the best method of performing the task Proper training should be given to clerks before they hit the floor. Field officers/sales man should be facilitated with a script of the product, a mobile should be there with the sales man. Work and responsibilities should be divided. Performance oriented goals should be there. Efficiency should be increased in order to work speedily and accurately. Motivation for worker should be done by motivating managers Organizational development technique-attempts to improve interpersonal skills and eliminate game playing. Value-value a person places on various rewards such as money, social approval or good grades influences the person’s behavior.
