Slide 1:Case Study: Telenet Client Profile
Telenet provides Broadband Internet / Multi-media and Fixed-Line Telephony Services via Cable (HFC) in Belgium.
Telenet started operations in 1997.
Client Requirements
Telenet operations are growing at the rate of 200%, which was putting a strain on their current OSS architecture.
They plan to get into Digital TV and Interactive TV, as well as Voice over IP.
The current subscriber base is around half a million
Expected to grow to 1.4 million for analog TV in the near future.
The digital TV subscribers are expected to increase to 2.0 million in the next few years.
Telenet wanted to re-design their OSS architecture to take care of its long term business plans and meet their immediate requirements like to compliance to Euro.
Infosys undertook re-architecture & development of their OSS systems (OASIS) in order to make it scalable & robust and ensured automated flow-thru provisioning was possible. Infosys now maintains the OSS suite and has a 50 member OSDC setup
Infosys has prepared an IT roadmap for Telenet and is jointly implementing initiatives as per the roadmap
Slide 2:Case Study: Telenet The OASIS project also involved development of web-based Order Management System (AFE), a WorkForce Management System (WFM) and the integration thereof, with off-the-shelf components using webMethods middleware.
This project of around 10,000 person days was completed in 9 months time-frame.
