I probably won’t be going back. Why PowerPoint is better than the exchange- I can have a bright green background I can have a fail cover on the front without editing photos from the game I can have as many slides I want without my computer shouting at me I used to have to upload, it would fail, close my game and then upload again which took 20 minutes longer than it should have. And rant over. Also, I have to talk about the name of this chapter. It took me forever but I knew I wanted lyrics as the title. The title is a common phrase really but it is from I've Got All This Ringing In My Ears And None On My Fingers (phew!) by Fall Out Boy. I love this song as it is one of the only popular songs I know with trumpets in (haha, spot the trumpeter...) and the rest of the song is pretty amazing too. Anyway; enjoy the everlasting failure of Steph’s stories! Yes, that is my actual handwriting. I use it to put on my photos. And yes: I’m very sad. Slide 3: “You know, Dixie, this house isn’t that bad!” Komei said as he walked down the steps into the summer sun. “Hmm... I just wish our daughter would see it that way,” she sighed, glancing back at the house behind her where Ellie and Pong were standing, facing each other, the tension between them visible even from the front garden. Slide 4: Ellie didn’t want to say this but it had to be done. It had to otherwise she would worry about it for months and with her hormones going crazy as it was, she was sure to drive herself insane. She decided to do it in a nice way so she wouldn’t start an argument. “Pong, honey, Fleur mentioned something about you coming home really late last night and dressed as a burglar. What is that about?” she fidgeted slightly out of nervousness. “You wouldn’t believe me if I said a fancy dress competition, would you?” he replied, laughing nervously. “Honey, I want the truth. Have you been behind these raids?” And it was what she feared. Slide 5: “Yes. I have been. And you know what? I’m not ashamed. Ever since I was a little boy I wanted this. I always wanted to deceive the brightest brains as I was never smart. I got bullied for my looks, my name, my pure stupidity... I wanted to turn around and show those people that they had no idea what they were dealing with and this seemed like a good way.” Slide 6: “And you think that’s a very “fatherly” career? A teenage son, an almost teenage daughter and a new child on the way and you think you can go out and risk getting banged up?” Ellie couldn’t help being angry. “AND I’m a detective inspector! That’s how I get my money from stopping people like you.”“Honey, it’s my LTW. I can’t help it. It’s who I am,” he replied, feeling sorry for not telling her. Slide 7: “Look, babe,” Pong said softly as he pulled his heavily pregnant wife towards him, “I will look after our family better than you could imagine I would. I just have a goal that is a little risky-” he quickly put his finger on Ellie’s lips who obviously had a retort. She calmed down as he leant in to kiss her on the cheek. Slide 8: Ellie pushed him away.“What else do you want me to do?! I don’t have-”“My waters just broke.”“Bugger.” “My sentiments exactly.” Slide 9: Ellie screamed and swayed in the hot summer’s light coming through the windows. Dixie tried to calm her daughter. It was hard after the heated discussion Ellie and Pong had just had to be calm, especially when you’re giving birth. Pong had gone out to tell the carpool driver that he couldn’t leave for work that morning but the driver wouldn’t have a word of it as he said they had a big job that couldn’t be missed. Ellie had been hurt but knew she couldn’t risk saying “no” to anybody in that line of work. Slide 10: The entire family, apart from Pong, had gathered in the living room section of the hall to see the new arrival yet Ellie pulled her newborn daughter, Fluffy (named after a three headed dog in the Harry Potter books who is owned by Hagrid) close to her chest and snuggled her close.“I won’t let anybody hurt you, my darling daughter,” kissed her forehead, and rocked her gently in her arms. Slide 11: Pong arrived home from work that day and made a beeline for his wife who was sitting on the sofa while her mother was looking after her daughter.“I saw her. She’s beautiful,” he said gently, putting his arm round her.“I know she is. My beautiful younger daughter,” she said serenely. “I got a promotion today!” He said. He felt his wife tense slightly under his arm. “I got an office job, just sorting out past crime blueprints and things.” Ellie relaxed slightly.“That’s good, but you still did the crimes...”“Forgive and forget?”“I’ll try,” she said, snuggling up to her husband. Though it would be hard to forget. Very hard. Slide 12: “I hear you finally popped!”“Oh, Maura, that’s such an awful expression! But yes, I did ‘pop’! I had a gorgeous little girl!” “Aww, that’s great! Me and the girls were wondering... Our band needs a decent guitarist. You played in college, didn’t you?”“Yes, I did but I only just gave birth—”“Come along to the Juke Box Club on Saturday and play with us once and tell us what you think. Just once, if you don’t want to play with us again...”“We’ll see—” and before she could come up with more excuses, her friend hung up. Slide 13: That night, while his wife was asleep, Pong crept out of bed to leave for work. He had told her he had an office job but he lied. He planned to be back in bed by the time she woke up the next morning and pretend that everything was alright. “She won’t guess you haven’t really got an office job, Pong, she won’t,” he tried to reassure himself quietly but it didn’t help him feel any better.Ellie turned over in her sleep so her back was facing him. He couldn’t see the single tear trickling from her supposedly-asleep eyes. Slide 14: “Ellie, you don’t look right to do this sort of thing,” Ellie thought to herself as she fussed over her appearance in the mirror. “You have three kids- you are not a rock star!” But something inside of her really wanted to go. Pong had deceived her, lied to her and she felt guilty for doing something perfectly legal and within her rights? “Just one night, Ellie. That’s all you have to do if you want to.” She pulled her mobile phone out of her pocket and texted her best friend. The text read- “You’re on. I’ll be there. Ellie x” Slide 15: “Ellie” If I’m honest, I wasn’t expecting you to be here!” said Ellie’s oldest and dearest friend. “Neither did I. But I’m here now, my guitar playing isn’t all that great but you’ll have to make do, I’m afraid,” she explained. Slide 16: “I don’t care, as long as you are here and you can play guitar then that’s fine!” Maura said, patting her friend on the arm encouragingly. “How are your children?”“Oh yeah, fine. Fluffy is going to be a toddler soon and—”“I was just being polite. Come on, El, I’m a popularity sim!” she laughed gently. Ellie was hurt but laughed with her to cover it up.“Shall we go in then, Ellie?” “Alright then.”And the girls walked in the club together, followed by the rest of the band. Slide 17: The band was brilliant; nobody could deny it. They played a few songs to the people at the bar, a few dancing together even though they were slightly intoxicated. Slide 18: Ellie enjoyed playing with the band. She didn’t have to worry about people looking at her or making fun of her as she was too busy worrying about playing the right notes at the right time. Maura looked over from the drums every once in a while to give her a wink which Ellie returned. Ellie drove home with a big grin on her face which had been missing for a long, long time. Slide 19: Soon it was Fluffy’s birthday and everybody gathered around the cake as they usually did for the birthdays.Ellie still hadn’t told anybody about playing at the bar and wasn’t going to just yet. Instead she concentrated on her daughter who was about to grow up. Slide 20: Poor Fluffy has the Pong nose like the other kids but has it a little bit better than them.“Number 5, where is mummy?”“I do not have that information, Miss. Fluffy. She has requested me to look after you while she is organising something,” the robot said, trying to come across comforting but there is only so much emotion you can put into an electronic voice.“But I want mummy,” Fluffy’s bottom lip started to quiver. “I can teach Miss. Fluffy to walk?”But the toddler wasn’t comforted much by this. Slide 21: Ellie was up on the balcony practising the riffs she had difficulty with during the gig the night before. But she couldn’t push her problems out of her mind. “She won’t guess you haven’t really got an office job...” “Mummy, I think daddy has been stealing from people...” “You played great tonight! You should play with us again and leave the family at home. You don’t belong there, you belong with us...” Slide 22: And then it was time for Fleur and her bird nose to grow up into a teenager. Slide 23: “Why can’t I be more like the real Fleur Delacour? Maybe I should get ze French accent like zis? Yes, zat is much better! I feel French! I now have ze stereotypical urge to eat a large, expensive meal and moan about British queues!” Slide 24: “Miss Ellie, could you help Fluffy grow up for me please while I check my circuits quickly?” asked Number 5 who had been looking after Fluffy all day. “It’s Fluffy’s birthday today?! I totally forgot! I’m sorry but I’ve already made plans for tonight...” said Ellie, grinning at the thought of the gigs she had been doing almost every night. Number 5 would have felt sad if he wasn’t made of metal and couldn’t feel quite as deeply as humans but he could sense a wire had fallen out of place. Slide 25: Fluffy sat on the sofa waiting for her mum to get home. She hadn’t seen her for a few hours now and wanted to give her the slice of birthday cake she had reserved for her. It was getting close to 10 o’clock which was way past her bedtime so she gave up and went to sleep in her bedroom in the basement. Slide 26: At lunch the next day.... “Pong, did I see you flirting with our guest? She’s in a bikini! You think I wouldn’t notice you looking?! She must obviously think you’re hot or something,” Ellie whispered viciously so that the woman didn’t hear and her feelings weren’t hurt. Slide 27: “Ellie, I’m bored of you just nagging me all the time! I am not flirting with her! Why are you so paranoid?! What happened to the Ellie I used to know and love?” Pong said, getting tired of these arguments almost every day. Slide 28: “You don’t love me anymore?” Ellie said, her eyes starting to well up. “Not when you’re always on my case! I didn’t flirt with her. I wasn’t even looking at her in that way!” “Well that was one cosy conversation then. She has a face, you know. Just because, unlike me, she is willing to show her flesh off!” Slide 29: “Ellie, when were you going to tell me about the concerts?” Pong sighed. “So that’s why you're annoyed with me? Because I’ve been going out at night. You didn’t tell me you were a criminal and you lied to me about getting an office job!” Pong made an uneasy move, “I heard you talking to yourself one night. At least my actions are perfectly legal and no one gets hurt. I do it for fun!” Ellie couldn’t bear to argue anymore so left the room and went to practise her guitar. Slide 30: Fred had overheard the argument going on between his parents and was so angry at the woman that he went up to her and said what he felt he needed to say. “Who do you think you are to come in here and ruin my parent’s relationship?”“What?! I did nothing, I—”“Nothing?! Mum saw dad flirting with you! Why didn’t you just reject him!” Slide 31: “Fred, I would like you to meet my husband. We are expecting a child,” she said, giggling slightly so she could put Fred at ease. “Y-your husband?” “Yes! I wasn’t flirting with your dad! I think your mum is a bit touchy and just jumped on it! Your father and I were having a heated discussion about whether cow plants should be banned in capital punishment. I think that’s far from flirting...” Fred felt very embarrassed, muttered something about getting the wrong end of the stick and went to his room. Slide 32: “Komei, I’m worried about our daughter. Her and Pong have done nothing but argue since we moved here. We haven’t got long left before we... You know... And we can’t look after the kids! Number 5 is trying his best but there is no way he can cover everything... Should we get some elixir? We could, and then we could help them get back together and the whole family would be happy and-” Slide 33: “Dixie, chill! They are just having the little arguments every couple have” “When did we have an argument?”“When I left you at the altar on our second wedding, we didn’t speak for weeks until we went on holiday, I proposed and then we remarried.”“Ok, apart from that?”“When your mum said she thought I ought to get a face transplant and you didn’t support me back!”“It might have helped....” Slide 34: “What I am trying to say, love, is that they can sort it out. We went through our own troubles like every heir and spouse has throughout this legacy and we sorted them out. Dixie, we have very few precious days left and I don’t want to spend them worrying about it, I want to spend them with my beautiful wife who said she loved me regardless of my face.” Slide 35: “Aww, Komei, that’s so sweet!” “That’s me: your knight in shining armour!” “Can you put the visor down then, so my eyes stop hurting?”“You can tell whose daughter you are,” “Hmm... Shame...” Oi! Slide 36: Finally Komei got his LTW and is now a World Class Ballet Dancer. Two guaranteed platinum deaths has made my day! Slide 37: “Hello, doggy,” Fluffy said, stroking the dog in front of her who growled in a friendly manner at her strokes. “I should be like you, you know! I am named after a dog. Maybe, if I ever come back here, I’ll get a dog like you...” and Fluffy was in her own little world. She hadn’t seen either of her parents in a few days as they were avoiding each other. She always loved coming out into the garden to play and greet a few animals that wandered into their garden. She didn’t have many friends so instead had made lots of pet friends. Slide 38: Meanwhile, Fred was making lots of friends on his own. They had their first kiss together :) Slide 39: “Mum, Dad- I want to go to college soon please,” Fred asked over breakfast. “Are you sure you are ready, honey?” Ellie asked, avoiding looking at the person opposite her. “I think you’re ready to go, son! You go when you want to, yeah?” Pong said as if Ellie hadn’t spoken. “Fred, tell your father that you aren’t ready.” “Fred, tell your mother that she needs to get a grip.” Ellie’s jaw dropped. “For goodness sake, you two! I’m off regardless of what you two say. When I next call, I want to hear that you’re acting like adults and not a 13 year old couple!”And with that, the eldest of the F generation walked off to get into a taxi to take him to LFT. Slide 40: That night... “Ellie! Where do you think you’re going looking like that?!”“Oh, sorry dad, but I was going out ‘cause I’m not 13 anymore...” “But, you look...” “Awful? Thanks. You always did know how to make me feel loved.” Slide 41: “Ellie.... You’ve changed so much...” “Why don’t you just go and rob a bank. Oh wait! You have!” “Don’t be sarcastic with me!”“I can do what I want. But I’m off out now. Oh, and don’t wait up.” Slide 42: Pong watched from the porch as she walked down the path and off into the town centre.“And don’t bother coming back!” Pong shouted at her. He couldn’t bear to be with her right now.“Fine. I won’t.” Slide 43: Ellie waited until Pong was back in the house and burst into tears. “And don’t bother coming back...” What had she done? He didn’t care about her anymore. She walked on and went to the club to play another gig.Little did she know, on the other side of that door was a man who was crying just as hard as she was. Slide 44: “She’ll be back soon, Dixie,” Dixie thought to herself and she moved into her next tai chi pose. It had been 8 hours since Ellie had left and she hadn’t come back. It was early morning now and Dixie was up for her regular tai chi. Ellie wasn’t anywhere in the house; Dixie had checked. Slide 45: “Daddy, where is mummy?” Fluffy asked at breakfast that morning.“Erm... I don’t actually know....” “You lost mummy?”“Well, not really...”“But you don’t know where she is?”“Well, no...”“Then you lost her!”He sighed, “yes, I lost her years ago” Slide 46: Meanwhile, on the other side of Pleasantview, Ellie was sleeping on an old couch as there wasn’t enough beds. Slide 47: She woke up slowly. She felt a bit disorientated at first, not remembering where she was or what happened that night... “Oh yeah, you’re at Maura’s after the argument. She said you could stay here for as long as you want...” she thought to herself. Slide 48: She looked in the mirror. “Oh bloody hell, I look a mess! That will teach me for crashing on a couch...” she thought to herself as she ran into the bathroom to sort herself out. Slide 49: After washing and changing into clean clothes, she decided to phone home and tell them where she was. “Hello? Addiction household,” said the familiar voice at the other end. Slide 50: “Ellie? Is that you? Where are you? You walked off last night and didn’t come back!” “Yeah, ‘cause you told me not to bother. I stayed at Maura’s and I’ll be staying here,” “For how long?” “As long as you stop being a jerk which I can’t see being in the near future...” “What’s happened to you, Ellie? What happened to that shy girl I went on a date with when I was a teenager?”“I grew up.” And with that, she put the phone down. Slide 51: Ellie decided to make the most of being free. She had married straight out of college and got pregnant pretty soon after the wedding. She decided to trim up a bit and practise guitar and not worry for the first time in her life. Slide 52: Meanwhile, Pong wasn’t enjoying himself as much. He looked at the two portraits that hung on the wall. “You two had a lot of trouble, didn’t you? How did you cope? Can you help me and Ellie? Things haven’t been right for a long, long time and I don’t want to go on without her...” He knew he wouldn’t get any help from pictures of his wife’s grandparents and went off to get ready for work. Slide 53: “Honey, today is our last day and we can’t share it with our daughter...” Dixie said, still worrying about why Ellie left. “Our daughter is just going through a phase and will hopefully get over it soon but as I said before; I don’t want to keep worrying about everything. I just want to spend my last day with my gorgeous wife.” Slide 54: “Really, Komei? Oh that’s so sweet!”“Race you upstairs,” said Komei, wiggling his eyebrows in a suggestive manner. Slide 55: “That was great, Komei.” “At least you’ll have something to remember me by now...” “What do you mean? We’re the same age!” “I grew out of adulthood in gold, you grew up in platinum. You have another day or so.”“But I can’t live without you I—” “You’ll manage. Don’t worry, Dixie. Turn over,” he said as his wife twisted round. Slide 56: So the couple enjoyed their last sleep together, cuddle against each other. The perfect way to spend their last day together. Slide 57: “Dad, I zink I want to leave for college now. I feel ready for it,” Fleur asked her father. “Are you sure you’re ready?”“Yes, but I will stay if you want me to. I know you miss mum...” “She made her choice and it just wasn’t me this time. You go and enjoy being young, okay?”“Alright then, dad! I’ll call you when I’m there. J’adore vous!”And she left with a skip in her step. Slide 58: “Where to, Miss. Addiction?”“LFT please.”“Straight away.” And so the second eldest left. Slide 59: “Dixie, I want you to look after our family when I’m gone. They need you,” Komei said, holding his wife’s hand. “I wouldn’t do anything else,” and the couple sat there holding hands until 6pm came. Slide 60: Komei died aged 82. He had lived a good life with just the odd sarcastic comment from his mother-in-law.Somebody had come to visit the grave who wasn’t expected to turn up. Slide 61: Ellie felt terrible for not being with her dad on his last few days. She cried so hard. She wasn’t aware that he had died until she came to the house for another reason. Slide 62: It was Fluffy's birthday. It would have been more fun if a black cloud caused by Komei’s death wasn’t hanging over the family.Fluffy blew out the candles and grew up. Slide 63: Fluffy expected her parents to tell her how beautiful she looked as a teenager but both had eyes for nobody but each other. And not in a good way. “Who do you think you are leaving us and then suddenly coming back for Fluffy’s birthday?!”“She is my daughter too, you know!” “Then why did you leave her?”“I didn’t, I left you!” Fluffy stood there crying. “Welcome to teenagerhood, Fluffy,” she thought to herself. Slide 64: “How’s your band going? Better than our love life?”“Urgh, I forgot how frustrating you can be! I wish I hadn’t come now!” “I thought you only cared about your darling daughter?”“I love Fluffy to bits but I can’t stand seeing you!” “Is this what our marriage has come to?”“Obviously it has.” And Ellie walked out. Again. Slide 65: Fluffy laid on the bench after her makeover and gazed into the fountain, thinking. “Why do people fall in love? It’s pointless. You just argue, break up and that’s it. Yeah, it might be nice while it lasts but after that it’s pretty pointless. I’m never going to fall in love. I’m not going to let myself be that stupid.” And her mind was set. Slide 66: Fluffy woke up the next morning and felt empty without her granddad coming to see her and tell her that Number 5 had made her breakfast and had set fire to the kitchen again. But life goes on, and she knew she only had a few precious hours to spend with her grandma. Slide 67: And yes, Number 5 had set fire to the kitchen again. Slide 68: Everything had gone wrong since Komei died. Number 5 was going berserk every five minutes, Fluffy never left the chess board and Ellie was still at Maura’s. Slide 69: “Who’s going to do this for you when I’m gone, eh?” Dixie said, fixing her beloved robot for probably the last time. After he came back to life, Dixie knew it was time to start saying her goodbyes. Slide 70: “Pong, I need to ask you a favour before I... Well, you know...” “Sure, ask away,” he said, wondering what she was going to ask him. “There is a book in the bookshelf in the lounge. Make Ellie read it.” “She won’t come back.” “You never know...” “Well, what book? There are so many on our shelf...” “She’ll know. And you look after her when she comes back, okay?”“She won’t. I know she won’t. I screwed it up too much.” Slide 71: “No, you didn’t. Just make the most of her, okay?” “I’ll try...” “And look after the kids. They need lots of love.”“I would have done that anyway, Dixie.”“You do make a great father,” she said smiling gently. She gave him a quick hug and went into the lounge area where her oldest friend was sitting. Slide 72: “Number 5, I’m going to miss you so much...” “Really? If I had the correct circuits, I would miss you too but I think I wire will never quite be in the right place without you, Miss. Dixie,” said the robot. “Aww, Number 5; it still means a lot to me,” she said smiling gently, as she wiped a tear from her eye. She checked her watch and willed the minute hand to go back a bit more. “It’s 6pm. It’s time for me to go. Look after my family for me. I’m going to miss them.”She stood up gently and waited for him to turn up. Slide 73: “You look like you have been expecting me, Mrs. Addiction.” “Well, I knew you would be coming now. Is Komei alright?”“Yeah, he’s fine. Scaring the other dead people with his face. Are you ready to join him?”“Ready as I’ll ever be.” Slide 74: “Is that really a good idea to put it on the stairs, Mr. Reaper?”“Meh. I don’t really care.” “Well you should do! That is a health hazard! I said I would miss my granddaughter but I don’t want her tripping over it and visiting me just as soon!” Slide 75: “Shut up and drink, you old hag!” And so our generation D heiress left for the big party in the sky... I’ll miss her. She is my most beautiful elder yet. Slide 76: Fluffy was upset about her grandmother’s death, but knew that there was one person that should know. “Hello?” “Hi, Maura, can I speak to Ellie please?”“Yeah, sure.” “Thanks.” “Hello, this is Ellie. Who is it?” “Mum?” Ellie could hear the tears falling. “What’s happened, darling?” Slide 77: She couldn’t believe it. She had missed both of her parent’s deaths. She felt awful. She had only spoken to her mum over the phone since she left. Surely she knew how much she had loved her? Probably not as she hadn’t spoken to her for a while. Slide 78: “Hey, Ellie! What’s wrong? Did Pong call again?”“No, no it isn’t him. MymumdiedandIwasn’tthere*gulp*” “Erm... In English please?”“M-mum... D-died...” “Aww, Ellie, that’s awful!” Ellie was crying to much to reply. Instead she smile feebly and walked upstairs. She wanted to be on her own today. Slide 79: “Dad gone... Mum gone... I’ve left my husband... I left my kids... Two are at college now waiting for their younger sister who is a teenager... Just a teenager who has lost her grandparents and her mum... What a failure I am as a mother...” Slide 80: Fluffy had been wanting to ask her father this for a few days and had only just managed to get the courage to do so. She took a big breath. “Dad, I’ve been thinking... I think I’m ready to move to college,” she said as she watched her dad almost choke on his spaghetti. Slide 81: “Are you sure you’re ready?” he asked with a fake calmness, trying to cover up the fact that he had spilt his dinner all down his tracksuit. “Dad, if I wasn’t ready, I wouldn’t ask,” she replied, putting down her fork on her plate to show she was serious. “Well... I guess if you’re ready for it you can go...”“Thank you, dad!” Slide 82: “Give my love to Fred and Fleur for me, will you?”“Of course I will, dad,” she said as she hugged him tightly. Fluffy packed up her things and waited for the taxi to arrive to take her to her new life. It had to be better than waiting around this house. Slide 83: Pong walked back into the house after waving goodbye to his youngest child suddenly feeling very old. “If only Ellie could have waved goodbye with me...” Slide 84: And now it’s time to give you your possible heirs...You can vote by commenting on this post on my LJ or vote on the poll I will shortly put up on boolprop.com. Slide 85: Fred is a romance sim with the LTW to woohoo with 20 different sims (oh dear...). His stats are 9/3/9/7/1. I’m actually really annoyed that he rolled romance as Fred is one of my favourite HP characters. I like romance sims ‘cause they are fun to play but it’s like a sin to make him into the kind of romance sim who just wants to sleep with everyone... Oh well, we will find a way . Slide 86: Next we have Fleur. She is a popularity sim with the LTW to become a Rock God. Her stats are 9/3/9/7/1. Fleur isn’t as pretty as the woman she got her name from so makes up for it in speaking in a French accent. Slide 87: And, last but not least, we have Fluffy who is named after the three-headed dog from Harry Potter. She is also a popularity sim with the LTW to become Media Magnate. Her stats are 8/3/9/3/4. Fluffy was hit the hardest by her parents’ separation and vowed to never fall in love. Please vote and I will see you next time! -Steph x You do not have the permission to view this presentation. In order to view it, please contact the author of the presentation.

-Steph x
