Our mandate… : Our mandate… The AGCO commits to: Making measurable and meaningful reductions to our environmental/carbon footprint Becoming a leader in the Ontario public service by adopting a progressive environmental approach Creating opportunities for the AGCO to get involved in the wider green community Slide 8: This is a long-term,agency-wide initiativethat will become part ofeverything we do. Here are some eco-measuresthe AGCO already has in place… : Here are some eco-measuresthe AGCO already has in place… Slide 11: Our copy/printer paper is SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certified, with recycled content We print and copy double-sided whenever possible Our printed letterhead and most envelopes are on recycled stock All new printers and appliances are energy saver-rated Slide 12: Old cell phones and IT equipment are sent to Government Surplus for recycling Empty toner cartridges at Head Office are disposed of through Crown Property’s recycling program Each Branch has an Iron Mountain Grey Bin for secure recycling of paper products Slide 13: Each employee has a small blue bin for recycling Lunchrooms and pantries have large recycling bins Several filtered water systems have been installed to eliminate plastic water bottles Going forward,our eco-initiative has four main “targets” : Going forward,our eco-initiative has four main “targets” Internal : Internal We can adjust the way we work We can conserve power, paper and other consumables And recycle when we can External : Communications with stakeholders canbe more eco-friendly A couple of examples: Electronic Service Delivery is coming So is “Forms On Demand” External Personal : Personal Every bit helps, at work and at home Community : Community AGCO staff can participate in local eco-events across the provinceAnd we can become a leader in the OPS How will we do this? : How will we do this? The environment as a “line item” in AGCO’s planning processes : The environment as a “line item” in AGCO’s planning processes Starting with regional and Branch meetings this summer Tracking consumables month by month(gas, power, paper, et al) : Tracking consumables month by month(gas, power, paper, et al) We’ll carefully monitor our ongoing progressand see which areas need improvement Staff Programs : Such as AGCO’s 10,000 Acts of Green, a monthly Branch/Section “green” award, and more… Staff Programs Slide 40: and participating in OPS-wide eco-initiatives Working with the OPS Green Office Slide 41: Working with the AGCO landlords and the OLG’s “Bet on Green” team Slide 42: Stay tuned!
