The Addiction Legacy -chapter 13 :

The Addiction Legacy -chapter 13 What A Catch, Donnie... I got troubled thoughts, and the self esteem to match, what a catch... What a catch...

Slide 2:

Hello there, and welcome back to the Addiction Legacy on a PowerPoint? Well, as most of you know, the Exchange died and we can’t upload so I am going for PowerPoint via Live Journal. This has taken me hours. I mean hours. I rewrote the entire chapter and had to find the pictures first. Luckily, I am quite skilled with PowerPoint so I am using this to my advantage and making pretty title slide and little things in between. But the exchange would have been so much easier and this would have been up over a week ago. So where we left off, the E generation were about to go college. Em is very pretty, Ellie has an extremely low self esteem and is a vampire and finally we have Ella who follows Em and doesn’t really have a personality of her own. The title of this chapter is “What A Catch, Donnie”. If you have never heard of it, you can press the button at the bottom of this page and it should work- that’s one benefit of using PowerPoint! It sums up this chapter pretty well and it is one of my favourite songs. I have listened to this song non-stop for about 6 months and I still love it. And I still cry at it sometimes. But I am a wimp, so this means nothing. But on with the story. -Steph What A Catch, Donnie- Fall Out Boy

Slide 3:

Ellie was lying in her coffin, waiting for the sun to set and the moon to come out when she heard a knock at her bedroom door. She was going to get up soon anyway but she was a little bit annoyed at having her sleep disturbed. But still she got up and went to see who it was. “This better be worth it,” she thought to herself as she climbed out of her coffin and to the door to her room.

Slide 4:

She looked around, bleh-ing as she did so but she couldn’t see anyone, just hear the quiet noise that could have been footsteps running away. They might not have been. But then she noticed a small bottle on the floor, glowing slightly.

Slide 5:

She picked it up to examine it. All she knew was it was shiny. But she did notice a note tied around the neck of the bottle. And written in small, neat handwriting was the words ‘drink me’. “This is like Alice in frickin’ Wonderland,” Ellie thought as she started to unscrew the lid. She knew she probably shouldn’t trust it but something told her it was safe.

Slide 6:

She drunk it down, making sure she didn’t leave a drop. It had a disgusting taste but it didn’t exactly look like lemonade so it definitely wouldn’t taste like it.

Slide 7:

It hurt as the liquid took effect. “If I suddenly become giant sized , I will not be happy,” she screamed as she changed, even though there was no one around to hear it.

Slide 8:

Ellie ran to look at herself in the mirror. “I must have been cured of vampirism. I’m back to my old self,” she said as touched her peachy skin which 5 minutes ago had been a pale blue. “At least I won’t die on my way to class anymore.”

Slide 9:

“So Ella, what do you say to us having a party? Ya know, celebrating our young adulthood?” “Do you think it’s a good idea?” “Yeah!” “Then so do I!” “I was thinking fancy dress!” “Me too!” “I have found the perfect costume for you! It’s in your room!”

Slide 10:

“Really? I’m sure this part will be amazing! Like our outings were when we were teenagers!” “No it won’t. It will be better!” And both girls ran off eagerly to their rooms to test out their outfits so they could have an awesome party.

Slide 11:

“I've been around the world in the pouring rain, Feeling out of place, I’m feeling strange, Take me to a place where they know my name, Where everyone knows my name...”

Slide 12:

Em was in her room, worried that maybe her outfit was a little bit too revealing. But she didn’t mind. She might find some hot guy that would like it. Even she couldn’t deny that she made one hot bunny.

Slide 13:

Ella wasn’t quite so sure on her costume but if Em wanted her to wear it, then she would. It was quite a good costume but not quite what Ella would have preferred.

Slide 14:

Ellie didn’t want to join in the fancy dress. Instead she emerged herself in her a good book and let her sisters have fun. Even though she wasn’t joining in, she couldn’t help but notice how Ella’s cat suit clung to her perfect figure and how Em’s corset, however revealing, made her look beautiful and showing off her perfectly slim legs and her waist that curved in all the right places. She knew she would never be as pretty as them. Her book wasn’t enough to distract her anymore, so she left the room.

Slide 15:

She walked out of the room and out into the back garden. She knew she wasn’t like them but she didn’t know who she was. She hated how she was now. Maybe the fresh air could clear up her head a bit. Or probably not.

Slide 16:

She sat on the bench and cried; she couldn’t help it. But it wasn’t long until she realised someone was behind her.

Slide 17:

“Please leave me alone,” Ellie said to the guest. But he stayed there. “Not until you tell me what’s wrong,” he replied, trying to comfort her by sitting next to her on the bench. “I just hate being me. I’m fed up with it. I want to change but I don’t know what I want to change to. I’m just fed up.” She couldn’t stop the tears falling down again so she didn’t bother trying to wipe them away. “Well I think you are beautiful.”

Slide 18:

“Y-you do?!” Ellie said, a little bit startled. Nobody had ever said something like that to her before. “Of course I do. I’ve seen you a couple of times around campus. The way you draw in your notebooks when you think nobody’s looking, the way you laugh at your own mistakes. That’s beautiful.” “But that’s not beauty. Beauty is how you look and how others perceive you...”

Slide 19:

“No it’s not. Unless you are as shallow as some people around here. I think you are amazingly beautiful. Not all of us can look amazing all the time but it is what’s inside that counts. And just because people don’t stick to it, doesn’t mean it’s true. You are beautiful in every single way, and words can’t bring you down.” “Th-that’s the nicest thing anybody has ever said to me!” “Really? Then you have met some awful people.” They could both tell what was going to happen next. The barely knew each other but it was going to happen. He touched her arm, and lent in.

Slide 20:

Ellie had had her first kiss. And it was amazing.

Slide 21:

Ellie’s mystery lover looked at the watch on his wrist. “I have to go, I’m sorry!” and he ran off before Ellie could say another word.

Slide 22:

“Wait!” Ellie called after him. “You didn’t even tell me your name!” But he had gone. Ellie sat down on the bench again, pondering over the last few minutes.

Slide 23:

Meanwhile, Em was getting a bit too friendly with the drinks machine and was starting to wobble slightly when she walked and giggle and hiccup.

Slide 24:

And being a bit tipsy, she started to get a bit over-friendly with the guests not even knowing their names properly.

Slide 25:

The next morning... “Erm... Is there any reason why you are sitting at my table in your underwear and I am wearing rabbit ears?” “Why do you think, Hot Stuff? I just can’t resist a girl in a bunny outfit in a corset!” “Eeep!”

Slide 26:

Ellie had been asked out on an outing by one of her college friends, Maura (the one in the black hat). I don’t normally let my Sims go on outings because my game is so slow, but I allowed her to this once. But it wasn’t a great outing.

Slide 27:

“Do you mind if I sit here, Ellie?” Maura asked. “yeah, sure!” Ellie said.

Slide 28:

“Ahhh, I remember when I used to be like you,” Maura said to Ellie. “You used to be like me?” “Yeah, I used to be on the podgy side with hair that was a weird colour and wouldn’t do what I wanted it to. But then I lost loads of weight, died my hair and straightened it. Now I look exactly like everyone else” “Erm... Thanks for that...” “Anytime. I’m sorry but I have to go. I’ll see you later, yeah?” “Yeah, sure” Maura left and Ellie was on her own.

Slide 29:

“Why did Maura invite her?” One of the girls on the outing asked. “I don’t know. She doesn’t look like any of us,” another one said. Ellie had to stop herself from crying. The little bit of confidence she had got from the mystery man had gone now. She had had enough.

Slide 30:

“Hey Maura, where did you go last night?” “I had somewhere I needed to be. Sorry!” “It’s okay, I guess. Maura, could I ask you a favour?” “I guess. It depends what it is.” “If you could come over, that would be great.” “Alright. I’ll be over in a bit” Ellie knew what she wanted to do. It was worth a try.

Slide 31:

“Hey Ellie, what can I help you with?” “Could you give me a makeover? I was thinking about what you said, about how you used to be like me. Could you give me a makeover?” “Sure! I can make you look great!” “I certainly hope so.” Ellie thought to herself.

Slide 32:

“I look awful!!!” Ellie shouted, trying to stop herself but she couldn’t help it. “If that’s what you think then I’m leaving,” Maura said quite hurt as she left the bathroom. The style suited Maura perfectly, there was no denying that but it didn’t suit Ellie.

Slide 33:

“Erm... *snigger* Hi Ellie. You’re new look is very... Different....”

Slide 34:

“Em, could you do me a favour?” “It depends what it is...” “Could you give me a makeover?” “I would love to! I’ll find you some clothes and do your hair and makeup!” Ellie knew it was mean, but she felt even more nervous know that Em was going to do her makeover. But she would grin and bear it.

Slide 35:

“So what do you think, Ellie?” Ellie didn’t want to reply straight away. Instead she poked her face about a bit. “It’s... Very... Erm...” “You don’t like it, do you?”“It’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just...” “Fine. That’s fine.” and Em walked off.

Slide 36:

Ellie went inside and found the number on the Campus Directory. “Hey, can you come over please? I want you to give me a makeover and you are the only person who I know would give me a good one.... Okay, I’ll see you in a minute.”

Slide 37:

“How did you know my name?” “Well, I’d been hoping it was you all a long. I thought it was and now I’m even happier to know it is you” “I followed you here, I always did feel that way about you. Now, let’s sort you out. That look doesn’t suit you at all”

Slide 38:

“But I look how I always used to look!” “I always said I thought you were amazingly beautiful just the way you are” “... Really?” “Yes, really”

Slide 39:

“Nobody has ever done something like this for me before” “That’s why I did it for you, Ellie. Ever since that day we met, I knew you were the one for me. I’ve never been very gifted in the looks department. People always judged on my face and my name. But I knew you were different. I always did.”

Slide 40:

“Oh, Pong...” “Ellie....”

Slide 41:

“Ever since that first date outside your house I knew I wanted to be with you. The date didn’t go well but I knew you were like me- you thought everyone was against you because you looked different to everyone else. I hated my face and my name as everyone judged me on it. That’s why I followed you to LFT...”

Slide 42:

“...and that’s why I wore a mask at the party. I didn’t want you to know it was me and I didn’t want my face to distract you from who I was inside.” “I wouldn’t have judged you anyway” “You say that now, but you might have. I wanted to be sure.” “Oh, Pong... I love you so much...”“And I love you too, Ellie.”

Slide 43:

“Ellie! What happened to the makeover I gave you?!” “It wasn’t me. That sort of thing looks great on you but just not on me” “But now you look boring and ugly again!”

Slide 44:

“You know what, Em? I have gone through my entire life with people laughing at me: laughing at the way I run, laughing at the way I talk, laughing at the way I look- laughing at everything about me that was different. My self esteem, which was zero to begin with, got even lower until I couldn’t even look in the mirror anymore. Do you know what it is like to wake up every morning and know you look awful? Of course you don’t! You always looked beautiful. “I couldn’t accept myself because other people never accepted me. Now I have met someone that doesn’t care what I look like and has taken me for who I am. If everybody else did that then I wouldn’t have wasted my life crying about who I was. You think about that, ok? I don’t want to fit in anymore. I want to stand out. I want to be different. And I’m not waiting for you to accept that because you’re going to have to because I’m not changing for anybody anymore.” She left and Em was left there, standing in shock.

Slide 45:

“I’m so glad I did that, Pong. I feel so much more confident now. She hasn’t been nice to me but I know she will make a great heir.” “You do make me laugh sometimes, Ellie” “What do you mean?” “You are the heir!” “Me?!” “Yeah! People loved you and sympathised with you!” “Really?! Oh, Pong! There is only one person I would want to share it with me...”

Slide 46:

“Will you marry me then?” And of course, she said yes.

Slide 47:

But meanwhile, inside the Greek House... “Ella?! What on Earth are you wearing?!”

Slide 48:

“You know what, Em? I don’t care what you think. I have been inspired by Ellie. She is now proud to be different. I wish I had noticed this years ago. I want to be different! I have always liked bright colours yet I decided not to wear them because of you. I am fed up of following the crowd! Now I have some apologising to do. I suggest you do the same.” And she walked off, leaving Em shocked. Again.

Slide 49:

“Ella? Is that you?!” “Yeah, Ellie, it is. I just wanted to apologise for being such a bad sister. I should have stood up for you. I just felt I had to be like Em to be accepted. Now I know I just have to be me.”

Slide 50:

“Aww, Ella! You should have spoken to me about this!” “You had enough problems yourself. But now I am the real Ella!” “And you look great!” “And so do you!” “I don’t look amazing, but now I am happy to be who I am and that’s good enough for me!” Ella walked off and Ellie could hear the sound of high heels on dirt.

Slide 51:

“Ellie, I wanted to apologise. I have been horrible to you” “Em, don’t worry-” “No, I should worry. I just wanted to say I’m sorry for never appearing to like you but I always did...”

Slide 52:

“... When you were a vampire and you kept dying as you insisted on going to campus every five seconds I saved you but I didn’t own up to it, I thought you would think I did it for my own benefit...”

Slide 53:

“... And then I bought you the cure so you wouldn’t die anymore. I didn’t want to own up to it so I left it by your door.” “You did all that for me?” “Yes, I always admired you for being different. I know you will make an amazing heir and look after our house and I hope you have beautiful children! Or at least, beautiful inside!” “Oh, Em, I would hug you if Steph could find the photos!” “We can hug of screen, can’t we? It will have to do!” *off screen hug*

Slide 54:

“You know, Pong? I don’t think I want to stay at college anymore. Let’s drop out and get started on F generation, shall we?” “I thought you’d never ask!” So Pong and Ellie dropped out and moved back to the main lot.

Slide 55:

But they were a little bit surprised when they moved back. “Erm... Mum, dad... Where is our house?” “It’s downgrading time, honey! All we have is a phone and this bench!” “It is one very sexy bench though, Komei. Perfect for some hot make out sessions to keep us warm as we have no walls!” “I was hoping you would say that!” “Hello future Mr. and Mrs. Addiction! I look forward to cooking your babies and looking after your meals!” “Number 5, I think you got that a bit wrong...” “Sorry, Miss. Dixie! I look forward to cooking your meals and looking after your babies!” “...Ellie, can I go back to college now?”

Slide 56:

So I leave you with this picture of Number 5 “hanging loose” with Ellie. I hope you like this chapter, even if it is on a PowerPoint instead of the normal exchange style. We come back next time to see how F generation get on and see if I can come up with some names! You can leave a comment on the thread at boolprop.com, comment on it on my LJ or you can sign my GB on the Sims 2 site. -Steph x
