Entry Requirements : 

Entry Requirements 4/28/2009 10 Hold a Bachelor degree (normally from a four-year program), or its equivalent, in an appropriate field of study from an institution of good standing acceptable to AIT. Have undergraduate grades significantly above average; the minimum GPA requirement for admission to the master's program is 2.75 or equivalent at the Bachelor degree level. Be in satisfactory physical and mental health, and have a record of good conduct. AIT requires applicants to demonstrate basic proficiency in writing English before entry. The standard is a score of 4.5 on the IELTS Test for Academic Writing The Language Centre offers an in-house test of English proficiency which is called the AIT English Interviewee Test or AIT-EIT..

Course Work : 

Course Work Students should consult their advisor prior to their enrolling their courses. Courses are categorized into two types, namely required courses and elective courses which are determined by each field/area. Required Courses are those which the students must enroll in his /her field /area of study. The Elective Courses are optional to students which may be offered in his/her field/area of study upon their interest Special studies are taught on an individual basis and must include a project report. 4/28/2009 12

Research : 

Research Master degree student must register for a research study not later than the end of the last week of the third semester and for thesis not later than the end of the last week of the second semester, after consultation with Advisor or Program Committee. The number of thesis/research study/project credits to be registered must be determined in consultation with the Advisor  A thesis is worth 22 credits, a research study is equivalent to 10 credits, a project is worth 6 credits and an internship is given 9 credits. Thesis report is submitted as part of the requirements for the thesis option for the Master's program.   The Thesis/Research Study/Project completed at another graduate school or institution within the D Defense is organized at AIT or at the institution hosting the student as per modalities defined by the School.  The project report format should conform to the guidelines set by AIT for research reports. 4/28/2009 14

Grading : 

Grading The grade assigned to a student in each course which he/she takes for credit is based on a letter system. The letters which are used have the following significance and grade points for the calculation of grade point average (GPA): It is 4 point credit system. The minimum requirement is 2.75 credit in each paper to pass in the paper. 4/28/2009 16

Degree Requirement : 

Degree Requirement 4/28/2009 17 Satisfactorily complete the minimum credit requirement by following courses approved by the Advisor or Program Committee;   Achieve a final cumulative grade point average of not less than 2.75; Achieve a grade of excellent, very good, good or fair for the thesis, research study, project or internship; and   Pass an oral examination on his/her thesis/research/ project/ internship.
