The following pictures of farms in and around McGraw, Marathon were taken from an airplane in 1955 and were offered for sale to individual farmers. In the fall of 2008 Clair Lanpher shared these pictures at a meeting of the McGraw Historical Society where Robert Nash presented a program about the history of barns in NYS. Clair told me that he had asked the sales person if it was possible to purchase more than just his own farm and a few weeks later the man returned with about 78 pictures. Clair said he paid the man $35.00 for all the pictures. In an effort to preserve the picture for others to enjoy, Clair has given permission to the McGraw Historical Society to reproduce them and prepare this slide show. We hope you enjoy it. :
