I couldn’t just buy the song I wanted. If I wanted to listen to music when I’m out and about, I could use a portable CD player to put it in. Slide 4: NOW WE HAVE IPODS! They are digital, and a more modern version of MP3 players that allow users to download different songs they enjoy and store them on their computer, as well as iPod. Slide 5: An iPod is a brand of portable media players designed and marketed by Apple Inc. and launched on October 23, 2001. Over the years iPods have kept on advancing more and more.. Slide 6: First IPod / rooted from MP3 2001 First IPod w/ touch sensitive wheels 2004 IPod shuffle 2005 Newer Model 2002 Slide 7: Although iPods first came out only 8 years ago, they continue advancing throughout the years, who knows what kind of technology will come next with these modern devices?... Slide 8: Colored iPod Nano 2006 Solid state Nano 2005 Newer iPods Nano 2007 Nano Chromatic 2008 iPod Touch 2008 NOW Slide 9: Easy-to-Use Interface - The iPod's combination of the clickwheel and clear onscreen software makes it a snap to use out of the box. Best Software Integration - The iPod/iTunes connection makes managing the music on both the iPod and your computer almost effortless. PROS Slide 10: Constant Innovation - Apple regularly adds new features to iTunes, the iTunes Store, and the iPod's software, giving you new content and capabilities all the time. Selection - With the four different iPod models, there's an iPod for every need and budget. Cool Factor - Even after all these years, the iPod is still the coolest MP3 player on the market. PROS Slide 11: Great Hardware - The hardware that is used to make the iPod is high quality, durable, and stylish. Best Online Store - The itunes store is far and away the best online store for filling your MP3 player to the brim with great music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, games, and audiobooks. PROS Slide 12: Higher Price - Apple products generally cost more than their competitors. Fans would say that the price is justified by the better hardware, software, and experience. That may not make much difference to your bank account though. Battery Life - This is less of a concern now than it was with the first few generations of iPods, but battery life has not always been as good as it should have been on the iPod. CONS Back Slide 13: Non-Replaceable Battery - Compounding this problem, the customer can't replace the iPod's battery, as it requires taking the iPod apart. This can lead to either dead iPods or needing to pay for a battery replacement. Apple DRM - Content at the iTunes Store uses Apple's digital rights management technology to prevent unauthorized sharing. Thought this DRM isn't as restrictive as some, many people still don't like it. CONS Slide 14: “You don’t have to buy CDs.” – Josiah Mast “You have your own selection of songs.” - Sharee McCarty “You have so many songs to listen to on your ipod, that I use mine when I workout ..it helps me go longer.” – Livi Riggs What do you think? PROS Back Slide 15: “If you loose them, you loose everything on them.” –Olivia Nein “They give you cancer.” –Allison Stoltzfus “When you buy them you have to buy other things to go with them (iHomes, Speakers).” –Mrs. Scales What do you think?
