Slide 1:

Canadian Troops Blamed For Death of 2 Afghan Boys

Slide 2:

Afghanistan is in a argument with Canadian troops because they are being blamed for the death of 2 Afghan children. They said Canada’s troops made a explosion that had killed two boys. Canada’s troops are currently investigating this incident. I think this whole incident is unfair to the Canadian soldiers.

Slide 3:

In Kandahar, Afghanistan angry protesters said “Death to Canadians” and walked around dismembered bodies of two Afghan boys in front of the government office on Monday. Two children died and five were injured in a blast. The five kids were sent to the hospital in Kandahar, and their condition is still unknown. The Canadian troops said “The blast came from a undetonated explosive that was on the ground”. It is possible that the blast could of came from a mine in the firing range, but nobody knows for sure. Some people say it could have been from the Taliban or other foreign troops. Canada is still investigating this right now

Slide 4:

Ever since this incident, Afghanistan has been investigating what has happened. Canadian troops have been telling them “We made sure our soldiers have sweep the area to make sure that we did not leave anything harmless behind”. Afghanistan have confirmed the names of the killed children. They are 13-year-old Sadar Walli and 12-year-old Amed Jan. And recently a third child had died from his injuries. The name of the child is still unknown. Now the Canadian military is helping the investigation.

Slide 5:

On the day of the explosion the villagers and family of the children say different things for what happened. The district elder says the children were on by a unexploded bomb found in a field around the village while others were looking for bits of scrap metal. One of the children's father says his child was killed on impact by the bomb. The father use to be a soldier so he recognize the sound of a rocket fired. Mohammed Zahir said the kids were killed on their way home from religious school.

Slide 6:

I think this whole situation is unfair to the Canadian troops. Afghanistan does not know for sure if the Canadians were behind the explosion. I think Afghanistan is a dangerous place anyway, so the bomb could have been from a person from Afghanistan. I don’t think they should of went through the trouble of blaming the Canadian troops if they don’t know for sure if they even did leave a unexploded rocket on the ground.
