Hindrance in the development of India :Hindrance in the development of India

Slide 2:India may have been placed among the top 10 reformers 2003 under five activity heads — business, atomic power, import -export, GDP’S etc. Yet, the fact remains that Indian reform has not been able to make a mark in various spheres which could affect a sea-change in his own economic, social, political conditions in between them.

Various reasons :- :Various reasons :- In terms of terrorism. In terms of society:- 1.Poverty 2.Child labour 3.Illeteracy. In terms of population.

Slide 5:Terrorism is a complex problem with many diverse causes. Consequently no single effective method to counter it exists Their should be tough measures to penalize the state sponsors who give terrorist movements safe haven, explosives, cash and moral and diplomatic support

Child labour in India :Child labour in India

Slide 10:India has the largest number of children under the age of 15 in work in the world. Some estimates put the figure at 100 million children. In some cases, young children are forced to work for long hours for low pay and in dangerous conditions. 385 million children in India, with at least 60 million working. One of seven children who're making days from 9 till sometimes even 17 hours Poor children in India begin working at a very young and tender age. Many children have to work to help their families and some families expect their children to continue the family business at a young age. Children perform a variety of jobs: some work in factories, making products such as carpets and matches; others work on plantations, or in the home

Illiteracy in India :Illiteracy in India

Slide 13:During the British period, progress of education was rather tardy. Between 1881-82 and 1946-47, the number of primary schools grew from 82,916 to 134,866 and the number of students grew from 2,061,541 to 10,525,943. Literacy rates in British India rose from 3.2 per cent in 1881 to 7.2 per cent in 1931 and 12.2 per cent in 1947. In 2000-01, there were 60,840 pre-primary and pre-basic schools, and 664,041 primary and junior basic schools.

Poverty in India :Poverty in India

Slide 16:Even more than 50 years after independence from almost two centuries of British rule, large scale poverty remains the most shameful blot on the face of India.

Slide 18:India still has the world’s largest number of poor people in a single country. Of its nearly 1 billion inhabitants, an estimated 350-400 million are below the poverty line, 75 per cent of them in the rural areas. More than 40 per cent of the population is illiterate, with women, tribal and scheduled castes particularly affected.

Population :Population

Slide 20:The population in India as at 0:00 hours on 1st March 2001 stood at 1,027,015,247 persons. With this, India became only the second country in the world after China to cross the one billion mark. ( India is the 2nd most populated country in the world) India's estimated population to be 1,129,866,154, in July 2007.

Slide 22:India's population rose by 21.34 % between 1991 - 2001. The sex ratio (i.e., number of females per thousand males) of population was 933, rising from 927 as at the 1991 Census. Persons      1,027,015,247Males          531,277,078Females      495,738,169

Slide 24:Population, if continues to increase at the same rate, it will destroy the country. Lack of initiative by the govt. Together with sleeping people of India are responsible for this destructive problem. People are not realizing the problem. One day the result will be riots, fighting over food, water. India will be the largest slums creater. I think after 20 years, India will not be the place to live.
