“No man that does not see visions will ever realize any high hope or undertake any high enterprise." --Woodrow Wilson Overall Time Line: 1981-1985: STUDENTS FOR THE EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF SPACE (SEDS) SEDS is founded by Peter Diamandis at MIT and expanded to an international organization with Bob Richards and Todd Hawley 1986: SPACE GENERATION FOUNDATION The Space Generation Foundation is created by Richards, Diamandis and Hawley to generate and sponsor post-SEDS activities. 1987: ISU IS FOUNDED The International Space University is Founded by Richards, Diamandis and Hawley under the auspices of the Space Generation Foundation. 1996: X PRIZE ISCREATED Diamandis creates the $10M X-Prize to jump start the space tourism market. 1999: SPACE GENERATION FORUM ISU alumni convene the Space Generation Forum at Unispace III. Space Generation Advisory Council is formed for the UN. SGF is restructured with new leadership, programs and dreams. A world wide space party is born.

“No man that does not see visions will ever realize any high hope or undertake any high enterprise." --Woodrow Wilson ISU Time Line: 1987: ISU FOUNDING CONFERENCE The International Space University is Founded by Richards, Diamandis and Hawley under the auspices of the Space Generation Foundation 1988: FIRST SUMMER SESSION 106 students from 31 countries travel to MIT for the first summer session of the ISU. 1991: PERMANENT CAMPUS RFP RELEASE ISU releases it’s worldwide request for proposal (i.e. gift) of its permanent facilities. Over US$250M in proposal bids received. 1992: STRASBOURG CENTRAL CAMPUS Strasbourg is awarded the ISU Central Campus. 21 Affiliate Campuses Selected. 2002: CENTRAL CAMPUS BUILDING OPENS For the first time ISU has it’s own facilities. 2004: ISU GAINS ACCREDITATION ISU becomes recognized under French law as a degree granting institution. 1995: MASTERS PROGRAM ISU’s first masters class begins. 2000: CAMPUS GROUND BREAKING For the first time ISU has it’s own facilities.
