Step 1. I inverted just the sky in photoshop :

Step 2 & 3. I printed the photo at Rite Aid and colored the inverted portion with crayons :

Step 4 & 5. I scanned the photo into photoshop and added a filter to the portion with Matt and the rock :

Steps 6 & 7. I printed the last print in the lab and painted the portion with matt and the rock with nail polish :

Step 8. Then I used nail polish remover on the nail polish after it dried and actually had to paint a little back in because it turned white :

Steps 9 & 10. I scanned it back into photoshop to invert the photo from step 8 so that I had a positive and a negative of the photo :

Step 11 & 12. Finally I printed the positive and negative and cut them diagonally together so that the pieces fit together and alternated the positive and negative pieces. :
