The stock market is a big pool of companies worldwide who's shares of stocks are sold and bought to compete for money and power. You can gain lots of money but also can lose money on the flipside. How does the Stock Market work? : How does the Stock Market work? Businesses go public and worldwide and put out shares in their company to the public. Then the public or people will buy the shares through the stock exchange. Investors can then use the stock exchange to buy and sell the stocks of the companies. Stock Market continued : Stock Market continued Buying low and selling high can make people rich overnight. Of course you have to know what you are doing, and there are many factors involved. To gain a deeper understanding of how the stock market works, why don't we discuss a few of the most common terms. What can happen if the Stock Market crashes? : What can happen if the Stock Market crashes? Terrible things will and can happen if the stock market takes a dump to the public. Many people will lose money at large amounts because normally if you’re a true stock market guru then all your money is tied up in stocks everywhere across the map. Just like in the crash of 1929. Between the years 1927 and 1929, industrial production output increased 25%. Ford had created assembly lines that allowed cars to be produced at lower cost. The Roaring 1920s were an age of rebirth for most Americans. Investors frequently talked about the great wealth that could be made in the stock market. Relaxed credit terms from banks and stock brokers fueled the buying frenzy. Meaning the people who bought and sold stocks were making a monster that no one could see yet until the day of Black Tuesday October 29, 1929. Black Tuesday October 29, 1929 : Black Tuesday October 29, 1929 This was the main day of the crash that dealt the final blow to the Roaring 1920s and was the starting point of the Great Depression. On Black Tuesday a record 16.4 million shares changed hands. The ticker tape machines fell behind by nearly 3 hours. With all hopes of a market recovery now gone, panic selling continued and the market fell another 12%. Great Depression : Great Depression Not only did the great depression affect the United States of America, but also almost the whole world took a slump with everything having to do with business and products because America was the worlds leader in product making and business work with the whole world. This is what about 95% of what peoples life turned into. Homeless, jobless, penniless and having nothing in there life.
