approval: 

approval approval has to be obtained by every occupier from chief inspector in some cases: Site for location of a factory. Any construction ,reconstruction or extension of a building for a use of factory. Any manufacturing process carried out in any building , constructed ,reconstructed or extension.

licencing For new licience :- License is issued only to the premises where the Act is applicable. A previous permission in writing from the Chief Inspector of Factories is to be obtained before any factory building or premises is so constructed, extended or taken into use as a Factory or part of the Factory..

Cont…. License only be issued after the plans of factory is so approved by Chief Inspectors of Factories/Dy. Chief Inspector of factories and a Certificate of stability by the competent person in respect of engineering construction in Form No. I-A has been submitted. License will be issued only after receiving the application for the same and verifying it if necessary by visiting the premises of the factory

Cont…. Application should reach to the office not later than two months before the date on which the license is due to Expire For late application 25% additional fees is to be paid

Registration : 

Registration Every factory wherein 10 or more workers are working on any day of the preceding twelve months and manufacturing process is being carried on with the aid of power or wherein 20 or more workers are working on any day of the preceding twelve months and manufacturing process is being carried on without the aid of power is required to be registered under Factories Act, 1948.

Cont… For convenience of entrepreneurs, provisions have been made in H.P.Factories Rules,1950 for grant of License either for one year or five years in order to simplify the official procedures and to avoid procedural delays. If the license is required for five years then Registration Fee shall be five times the fee payable for one year as specified in Fee Schedule.

Cont…. Every factory registered under Factories Act, 1948 is required to submit Annual Return on Form and Half Yearly Return on form by 31 st January of succeeding year and 15 th July of current year respectively.
