What is the English Music for you ?:

What is the English Music for you ?

So, for you the English Music is this..:

So, for you the English Music is this .. The Beatles Roll Over Beethoven I t’s surely better that what we ‘re going to talking about now…

English Music : Before 1960’s:

English Music : Before 1960’s You have to know that before becoming what we know, the music in Britain was … pretty different. In fact the music stays classic very long time. One of most famous British classical music is Handel Handel : ( 23 February 1685 – 14 April 1759) was a German -British Baroque composer, famous for his operas , oratorios, anthems and organ concertos, blah blah blah… Anyway Handel 's Sarabande was played in the movie " Barry Lyndon »

Other Classical Music composers:

Other Classical Music composers These composers are less famous that Handel but they compose the same kind of music. So we are talking less about them … Henry PURCELL (1659–1695) « Requiem : Funeral of Queen Mary II » William Boyce (1711 -1779) « Overture 4 in D » Ralph VAUGHAN WILLIAMS (1872–1958) « greensleeves » At least we have talking about the classical music… But no one care about it, so, go on the modern English music .

Modern English music :

Modern English music 20’s century :This is in America where has really started the modern music (something else that classic) thanks to the cultural mix with Africans and Europeans . This was the beginning of the jazz music . Glenn Miller: In the mood (1946)

Modern English music :

Modern English music This is just with the first world war and the arrival of the American soldiers in Europe, that we began to listen the American radio and to inspire of their music. In England, we can listen this: Humphrey Lyttelton - bad penny Blues But the jazz doesn’t stay for a long time in UK. It’s quickly replaced by the Rock’N Roll lunched by Elvis in 1950 in American radio stations therefore listened in Europe and, of course, in UK.

The 60’s: The Beatles:

The 60’s: The Beatles For many people, this is a revelation. And the firs artists who have been inspired by this were the Beatles who have by the same time lunched the British pop music : All started with John Lennon who always wanted to become a musician. His mother offered him a guitar and he created his first band, The Quarrymen. When he was 16, John Lennon once gave a concert in a church. One of his friends introduced him to Paul McCartney who was very impressed by his talent. He joined the band shortly after. George Harrison and Ringo Starr also joined the group despite the fact that John found George too young. They used several names during their concerts, such as Beetles, Silver Beetles, Long John and the Silver Beatles, Silver Beats,… But in 1960 they decided to call themselves « The Beatles ». . Beatles refers to the rythm of rock'n'rool called the beat, and to a gang called "beetles." That’s how they chose their name . Young people loved to do their hair and dress like The Beatles and therefore the " Beatlemania " became a style for them. The Beatles had and still have millions of fans all over the world. The group disbanded in 1969 because John Lennon decided to leave the group. From me to you

The 60’s : The Rolling Stones:

The 60’s : The R olling Stones In the same time, The rolling stones are inspired by the American blues and create the British blues rock. The Rolling Stones are an English rock band, formed in London in April 1962 by Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart (piano), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), and Keith Richards (guitar, vocals). Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early line-up. Jones led the band until Jagger and Richards assumed leadership after teaming as songwriters. First popular in Europe, the Rolling Stones quickly became successful in North America in the mid 1960s. I cant get no satisfaction

The 70’s: The Hard-Rock The 70’s are marked by the appearance of news categories musicals in England. This is of the fact that several sub-categories of rock are created. First, “hard rock”, marked by the groups of Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple :
