An excellent program called CCleaner which will clear out most of the unneeded data automatically. Computers are some of the most efficient dust collectors known to man. Aside from looking gross and possibly being an allergy hazard, a dusty computer will trap heat, which can reduce its performance and lifespan.SYSTEM CLEANING TIPS :: SYSTEM CLEANING TIPS : Be careful when cleaning your system : 1.Remove any programs that you are no longer using by going to the control panel and selecting Add/Remove Programs. This is probably your biggest downfall by going to the control panel Programs.PowerPoint Presentation: 2. Perform a Disk Cleanup by going to My Computer, right clicking and selecting Properties. Then select Disk Cleanup for the hard drive that you are trying to free up. This will get rid of files, mostly temporary ones that are no longer needed, but take up space.PowerPoint Presentation: 3. Perform a disk defragmentation. Go to the control panel and select Performance and Maintenance (XP). They chose the option that starts with "Rearrange..."
